Hunan Express is AMAZING! The food is absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is also reasonably priced and the portions are huge. Crab rangoon is crispy and delicious. I would 100% recommend this place.

Worst meal I have ever had! Overcooked cashew chicken in an extremely thick sour tasting sauce, the egg roll so overcooked it looked burnt. The only thing half decent is the egg drop soup. NO Way does this meal even resemble the picture of a previous reviewer. Definitely not worth the money, headed to trash!!! Extremely disappointing as it appears the owners no longer care about the quality of the food they serve. Looks nothing like the meal (picture) presented by Eric T a year ago! Stay away from this place.

I have ordered tofu from multiple Chinese restaurants and never was it like what I received tonight.
The tofu was in a gravy-like brown sauce. I first found it odd that it was packaged in a container used for liquid items rather than a bowl or usual entree container. That was because it was swimming in gravy.
Additionally, that gravy sauce was so salty that alone made it unedible.
I don’t know what kind of recipe was used or if the cook was a new employee, but this was unacceptable.
I have ordered from this location in the past and been pleased. Not for this order.
I feel a credit to use on a future item would be an acceptable resolution to this issue.

The biggest plus this place has over all the American style Chinese places I’ve been to in STL is that they sell Springfield Style Cashew Chicken. They don’t display this anywhere on their website or menu, but it is listed as “Fried Cashew Chicken” (as opposed to the unfried chicken with cashews and veggies typically served in STL). Order comes with the fried chicken, side of the gravy, rice and cashews. It is missing the chopped green onion, but easy enough to add that at home. Not quite up to par to the abundance of Chinese restaurants in Springfield, MO. But it gets the job done. So far every other dish we’ve tried has been good as well.

The best orange chicken, period… It’s got little slices of charred peel in the sauce, it’s delicious… Also their wonton soup is top notch, has a shrimp and chicken slice in it, I like to drop the last bite of my egg roll in it

Completely waste of time. Do not advertise that you are going to be open on Christmas if you cannot service orders! Went to pick up order. Kid working behind the counter clueless and slow. No system to print Uber eats orders, had to be transcribed manually and ultimately wrong. Waited over 1.5 hours and left empty handed in frustration.
