Food: Everything we’ve ever ordered has been astounding! All of the food is fresh, hot, and full of flavor. Portion size is great as well! I love the bread options their store offers also. The quesabirrias tacos are a favorite go to! They also provide lime wedges, radish slices, roasted peppers, and roasted onion with the tacos. The fresh, crisp cilantro is the “cherry” on top lol.

Service: Every time we go in there, we’re greeted with a smile! All of the employees are really friendly, patient, and helpful. They do their best to explain something on the menu if you’re not fluent in Spanish/don’t know what something is or consists of. They’re very quick and efficient.

Ambiance: A quaint, quiet store/restaurant full of delicious options and amazing smells. It’s kept clean and tidy with medium noise pollution: there’s typically a TV playing in the dining area or music playing throughout the space. The seating is cozy; more for 2-4 people at a table/booth, as opposed to large parties.

This place is the real deal, you can just tell the food is made with love. By far the best birria I’ve had in Ames, and I’ve tried every place. The quesabirrias I ordered were extremely juicy, and loaded with filling. The side of consume was perfectly balanced, not too rich, and had a nice beefy flavor. The rice was fluffy and not overcooked with a great flavor from seasoning.

My girlfriend, a VERY picky eater, ordered a side of sopaipillas and said that they were by far the best she’s ever had. They were fluffy and crispy, perfectly sweet, and “just super yummy”.

I also ordered a pupusa with a filling of chorizo, bean, and cheese. It was very delicious, the crust of the dough was crispy with a nice char, and the dough itself was very fluffy and smooth. It went great with their salsa selection and some lime. Everything was washed down with a delicious, cold, and cheap can of Arizona tea. Overall really excellent eating experience.

The service was also awesome. The owner, greeted us almost immediately and was very polite. One notable moment was him showing me the free salsa selection they have, and explaining the flavors, after bringing out my order of the pupusa.

The store itself is also really authentic, and their selection of baked goods is great. Truly a really awesome place and I recommend everyone come check it out if you’re reading this!

Best Tacos in Ames hands down. Rinconcitos is so good Id slap my grandmother for a taco. Food comes out hotter than 2 squirrels doing it in a wool sock. Tastiest juiciest tacos Birrias Ive ever eaten. But seriously I’ve tried their tortas, their burritos, their tacos, I love them all.

I was just passing through and saw this restaurant tucked behind Walmart. The food here is very tasty, its freshly made. I had 3 chicken tacos. Very tasty I also order 2 different kinds of pupusas, they were a bit greasy but nevertheless tasty. Will definitely come back!

I LOVE this taco place but they are terrible with service, especially via UberEats.

They had my partner waiting for 30 MINUTES for a pick up order this evening. They were rude, and also blamed him for not saying he ordered from Uber Eats (they assumed Door Dash?). They were not even apologetic for how long they made us wait.

I’ve also had FREQUENT issues with ordering, since I have a mild allergy, and they constantly ignore my requests. My partner has to check our food before leaving bc they have messed it up so many times.

Really love this place but I will be only ordering in person from now own. Really wish they weren’t so rude.

Undoubtedly one of the best Mexican restaurants in Ames. You can get items which are not usually available at other Mexican restaurants in Ames. The tacos and other items are crispy and have a different flavor that one should definitely try. Our only concern was that the caramel in the flan was very slightly overheated.

This shop is still in construction but that shouldn’t stop you from visiting this restaurant. Although we have not bought anything from the shop section, they have a shop section worth exploring. If you love Mexican food at a very affordable price, give it a shot.

PS, we have requested to include Tres leches cake too.
