Great place for the family. Seafood Pots are great! Options for land lubbers… Very informal atmosphere- jeans and T-shirts. Special drinks are wicked! They limit you to two!!! We come all the time when in the area. Unfortunately they are now permanently closed! Sad to see Joe go…

Unfortunately, this Joe’s is CLOSED permanently. As of June 1017, after Joe’s bankruptcy and being sold, this Princeton one was one of the casualties.

Joe’s never fails to please you.
It is a place for sea food, with its pots and buckets of crabs, mussels, shrimps, lobsters, and so on. Try their balls of fire. They are great!
The exotic drinks are delicious, colorful, and well presented.
The servers prime to please you. They do so with big smiles and lots of courtesy.
It’s a very loud and casual ambient.
If you are there for a birthday, tell your server. You’ll be in for a surprise.
The price is moderate but worth for the food and service.

We have been seeing the commercials for Joe’s for many years on cable TV and have been so disappointed that there were none even close to us, so when we knew that we were going to be spending the weekend in New Jersey I made a point of finding out where the closest one to us would be.

My mother and I dined at Joe’s on Sunday evening (7/3). Absolutely loved it, some of the best fish we have had in a very long time. The manager and wait staff were so friendly and helpful, one of the best dining experiences we have ever had.

I truly encourage the Joe’s Crab Shack chain to expand northward into New England, we need more great seafood places away from the mom & pop coastal restaurants.

Food of average quality and on the greasy side. The $2 specials on Tuesdays are very small and hardly worth it. Large space with booths for families on the right and booths and bar seats for singletons of college age on the left near the bar. Kids playground was closed. Chef was very friendly and helpful. Waitresses wearing black t-shirts that say “Bite Me.” All the wait staff seems to be part time help of college age.

I’m not a huge fan of corporate restaurants, admittedly, but I LOVE Joe’s. I’ve eaten at Joe’s all over the country and never been dissapointed. Last time there we had some Patron and Draft beer on happy hour and I think they were $5 each. We enjoyed hanging out with the bartender so much that we sat in his section for dinner.
The crab legs and lobster were awesome. It may seem pricey at near $40 a pot but heck, seafood is pricey.
I recommend you stop in for happy hour for drinks prior to sitting.

Not the best I’ve had but for up north it’s a good shack. The service is always good and food is hot. Also one of the few places in Jersey that sells sweat tea. The steam pots are the way to go, but the real deal is on Wednesday All You Can Eat Snow Crab. Is the same price a regular steam pot. How it helps

If I could rate NO STARS …I would. Dan our server was great! Everyone needs a paycheck. Our food?? TERRIBLE!! We ordered the steam buckets .. $30 a pop. My wife received a cluster and a half (not much else) and I did as well. We complained and immediately were told we would receive additional clusters for our inconvenience. We received 3 small clusters once again! The only thing I enjoyed was my Pre- BOTTLED beer lol

I DO NOT recommend Joe’s Crab Shack of Princeton/Lawrenceville. You will waste every penny spent!!

Sincerely yours,
One UNHAPPY Customer.

After a rough night at another restaurant that we literally got up and walked out because it was horrible Customer Service, this Joe’s location came through and made it all better.

It started off great with my ice cold Dr. Pepper. It’s hard to find that at any restaurant in this area.

The manager was so nice to us and let us come in even though it was semi late 10:30ish and sat us down and went out of his way to check in us and make sure we where doing ok. He himself was very attentive to all of us eating that night. He went from table to table checking in on us customers.

Our waiter Zach was very attentive, knew the menu, recommended a great appetizer, laughed with us and took great care of my friends and took care of us.

I noticed they where already beginning to close up by cleaning up and stuff but not once did we feel rushed by Zack or Management. I know in some restaurants they will either give you a look or that specific tone in their voice saying like “we are trying to leave so you need to pay and go home.”

Not at this Joe’s. Management and our waiter Zach treated us well.

Thanks Joe’s for ending our night on a high note I really do appreciate it.
