I’ve driven by this place for quite some time on my way to work and have never realized there was a little hidden gem “hiding” in plain sight.

This is a mom and pop owned restaurant. The food was very good. The shrimp amazing. The New York steak was more flavorful than the filet mignon, but the fillet was more tender. They have good appetizers and their lunch specials are very affordable. I asked for their spicy paste and put it on everything!

Our chef was very nice and outgoing. He nailed the cooking and talked with us like a friend you haven’t seen in a long time.

Overall a great place. It’s a bit hidden, but worth the visit.

My friends and I dined at Kobe Japanese House last night. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

Our chef was awesome. He was amusing and put on quite the show. Worthy of note, he was not afraid to season things a bit. I mentioned that to him and he said that he was cooking it the way he likes to cook for himself. He used liberal amounts of the teppanyaki flavor arsenal: garlic butter, salt, pepper, and of course, soy sauce.

I had the filet mignon. It was delicious and it was cooked to mouth watering perfection. It had a little more pepper on it that I have ever had on my teppanyaki before but I really liked it that way. Others had filet mignon/scallops or New York steak/scallops combos. They all seemed more than happy as well.

My entree came with the usual salad and soup. They were both good but nothing out of the ordinary.

The price is in line with what you will pay at similar restaurants in the area. It’s about what a filet mignon might cost you at a regular steakhouse… or a little less… but it’s much more entertaining this way.

Incidentally, I’ve been to Kishi in Upland (twice) and Tokyo Kitchen in Montclair since the last time I dined at Kobe. Although both were good, neither one quite compares.

If you’re in the mood for teppanyaki, I highly recommend Kobe Japanese House.

The food was decent but it is very overpriced- their prices rival even the larger chains. The portions were good and the chef who prepared our food was great and entertaining!

But I must say that I am not a fan of the yum yum sauce that they have at this restaurant- at least the batch that we had tasted very bland and did not have any sweetness to it. Although it tasted much better the second day when blended with the ginger sauce.

The soup was also not much to write home about either. It was bland and the taste was not very good… i didn’t even end up eating it. In their defense, perhaps it was just different than what I’m accustomed to, especially as a huge fan of hibachi, as you can see from my reviews ( and so many more that I haven’t even shared).

We were told that reservations were required for our party of 6 but another couple was sat at our table. They came just as they were about to bring our servings out, which required us to wait longer. The couple said that they didn’t have a reservation.

One thing that can either be good or bad, depending on your situation is the fact that the restaurant is very intimate, meaning small.

So if you’re looking for a spot where you don’t have to compete to hear, this may be your spot. There were only about 2 full hibachi sides and a half table.

On the night that we went, there was only 1 cook, so we had to wait for him to finish with their table before he was able to come to ours. Our server had some challenges with either hearing or understanding us- which was a bit frustrating at times.

Overall, it was OK but not something that I would make sure to return to.

Decided to give this place a try after seeing a few posts on social media. Super convenient location for me as well. Sashimi plate was very good. I recommend it!

The food was amazing and our cook Mat was great. My family and I come pretty often and usually never feel uncomfortable until today. We had our reservation for 7:30 but didn’t get seated until almost 8 and they close at 9. That only gives us an hour for the food to be prepared and to eat which isn’t enough considering the whole process. It wasn’t packed at all at the time we went so just be aware that if you are making a reservation on a busier day like a Friday, don’t reserve anything after 7. We didn’t finish our food until a little past 9 and we noticed that the manager was giving us dirty looks and was just walking back and forth watching us. We rushed to finish our food so we can sing happy birthday and leave quickly. The girls who we were working brought out our cake and some plates for us to eat the cake. The manager clearly got more upset and began to yell at the girls who were working. He began to turn off the lights while we were still inside as he proceeded to yell at the girls more. We usually love coming to this place, but if the manager isn’t going to be welcoming to paying customers, not sure my family and I will be returning. Maybe the hours should be adjusted and no reservations later than 7 should be offered so it gives 2 hours for customers to get seated, make the food and eat without being rushed.

Find a good place to hangout with friends in Rancho. It’s not busy when we come around 3PM, so we can enjoy the great food and watch soccer game. The Sashimi is so fresh and very high quality, especially the arctic shellfish sweet and crispy.
They have a COTTON CANDY machine, many different shapes, so cute. Kids have so much fun.

This is my now my new favorite sushi & hibachi spot!!! I came here for dinner with my family and was well pleased with the quality of meats they had. Got to try the otoro sushi and Kobe beef sushi. Literally melted in my mouth. Our hibachi chef was funny and had lots of tricks up his sleeves. Will be coming here more often!

Such a delicious and great gem in Rancho! Lots of mainstream good choices for hibachi grills around, but this one has a great local flair to it and thus you feel a bit more like family than a customer here. Food was cooked perfectly, the hot tea was spot on, and the dumplings were so freaking good. Definitely worth a try!

Awesome food and great service makes Kobe Japanese House my go to place for Habachi dining. The price is hard to beat for similar restaurants who serve Habachi table dining. The chefs are so entertaining. I’ve gone here both lunch and dinner many times, and my dining experiences have been consistently positive. Note lunch does cost less compared to dinner, but food portions are still great.
