Let me just say—this was a fantastic experience. Super friendly staff and an excellent selection of sandwiches. In their own words, they’re “recovering fine-dining chefs”
Hands down the best focaccia I’ve ever had, and the pastrami sandwich was unreal—generous portion, perfectly balanced, and an outstanding sauce. My buddy ordered the “New Deal” Italian-style sandwich, and it was just as delicious.
Kudos to the hardworking staff, and extra credit to the owner for showing genuine kindness to the community out front. Kindness given freely never goes unnoticed.
I’ll definitely be back.

The focaccia is to die for. At that point it does not matter at all what do you put in between it, actually anything you add to it, it is just annoying. I was really hoping to try their pastrami but unfortunately they took it out of the menu. The roast beef one was nice but at some point even a bit too much. The extra veggies really helped balance the flavors and textures.

Seemingly a single vegetarian sandwich option on the menu, could probably ask for adaptations of other menu items. Focaccia base was crazy good. It was a solid sandwich with fried mushrooms, chili oil, and aoili. The mushrooms has a lot of batter and it was super heavy.
Small seating space. Most people seemed to take it to go.

I’ve been waiting my whole life for Cincinnati to finally get a good sandwich and this is it. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Each option has a hefty portion of delicious meats, thoughtful toppings that always balance flavors, and the bread. Oh, the bread. Perfection. House-baked focaccia that is sturdy enough to hold such weight but not too much to bite through. Did I mention the staff is all amazing? Family owned and operated, this place is a gem. You should all go and support them, but maybe not all on the same day. I’ve been left hangry and heart broken upon seeing the “Sold out, closed early” sign on the door of the dark shop upon arrival on busy days in the area. Thank you, Young Buck. You’ve given me the best lunch option out there.

Nice staff food was ok. Quite spendy though
$16 for a pastrami sandwich. Maybe it’s unfair that I want all pastrami to be Katz’s or even Slymans (Cleveland) but I hate saying “xxxxx place is really good for insert location”
The pastrami was good but the bread was the star of the show. For me the ratio is way off. Less bread or more meat. For $16 I’d suggest more meat.
Got a corned beef Reuben too. It was better but still the same. Good bread and the rest of the flavors sort of drowned out by it.
To add to that, I took the food as take away. Not really a table inside anyway but some limited bar seating. I was a little confused by the final price. 2x 16 =32 why was it 33.04? I get the receipt, and there is a 3% credit card fee then sales tax on that fee. Maybe I didn’t see a warning about the fee. I would have paid cash. The gentleman working the register just immediately told me to tap the box to pay so I did.
So I guess the sandwich was fine. The ingredients are really good independently so maybe I’d buy by the pound next time?
Seeing that the Thursday special was Italian beef, I’ll come back to try that before giving up.

I happened to stumble across YBD while at a plant store in Cincinnati. The owner had these beautiful loafs of home made focaccia laying around and we couldn’t help but start chatting with her about her beautiful bread. After learning she made the bread fresh, we decided to purchase the Steak & Egg breakfast sandwich from the limited menu at the event. MAN! We were upset we had to share this sandwich. The fresh bread, the caramelized onions, the farm fresh egg, the chive garnish and home made ranch were FIRE! But what set this sandwich apart was the high quality meat, that we learned her husband made! We finished our sandwich and shopping and later in the day decided we HAD to have another sandwich, and so….we drove to get another (and by another I mean two because it was incredible). We went down to the shop in OTR and ordered the Jive @ss Turkey and the Grilled PBJ and WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! The turkey sandwich was HUGE, packed full of flavors and well balanced. Tangy smoothness from the goats cheese and perfect acidity with the fig jam. This is a combo I didn’t know I needed. The PBJ was also really good, made with high quality ingredients and felt elevated from a PBJ you could make at home.
While waiting on our sandwich, we happened to see the butcher crafting a trumpet mushroom sandwich (not on the menu but I need that) that looked divine.
Over all, I plan to spend all my money here and I don’t think this place can miss.

This place is delicious! The chicken parm sandwich (a Friday special) is one of the best sandwiches in the city.
The bread is also unreal.
My only wish is that they were open earlier so I could eat the amazing breakfast sandwich in the morning.

Idk what they do to their pastrami but it was the worst pastrami I’ve ever eaten. I don’t know if they heat it in a microwave or what but it had this oily sheen on it that I have never seen. It wasn’t enjoyable at all. I’m glad I had ordered 2 sandwiches because the second one was better. It was called the realist or real one. Something like that. I understand the ingredients to make these large sandwiches are probably pretty pricey but I just didn’t see the value in it. I’d have preferred a smaller better sandwich for 10 or 12 bucks versus a humongous mediocre sandwich. I was really excited to try this place because I’ve been looking for a good deli.

Bread was freshly made- so soft and YUMMY. The sandwich was perfectly full, I got the club. Staff was so kind and friendly when helping me pick out the perfect sandwich for me.

First visit. Emphasizing FIRST. Breakfast sandwich was $8. I would have paid that for the large incredible biscuit with an over-easy egg and a schmear of the pimento cheese. But the sausage “patty”- that’s been missing from my breakfast. You could eat this to go as a sandwich or keep it wrapped up, take it home and deconstruct it on your plate at home and apply your knife and fork to it. Ambience this morning was 80’s and 90’s hip hop. Great start to the day.
Eaten this and seen the lunch menu….I’ll be here a lot.
