Made our first visit to this Rochester location of MVK.
Lovely, open dining room that is very comfortable. Our waiter Terrence was great, he seemed deal very well with a “ high maintenance “customers seated nearby.
The biggest draw is the food. I loved the Sea bass and my husband raved about the shrimp tacos. This will be our “ go to “ place in future visits to Rochester,

This is such a cute little cozy restaurant. Love the decor and vibe and their menu is on point. The service is professional and fun! I wish I could clone this place and put it by my house! So so good.

Best mussels in the TwinCities! The recent flavor is harissa chorizo. The waygu sliders are great as well. Hit up Samara at the bar for a top shelf margarita. Yum!!!

Stopped in for dinner. Nick was serving the lounge and tending bar with aplomb. Despite clearly being busy he was unhurried and friendly. My falafel burger was fantastic. Mini desserts are the perfect portion. Planning to return and bring a friend.

We had a great experience here for dinner recently. We’ve been before for brunch and the vibe/ambiance difference between morning and evening is spot on- light and airy feeling during the morning hours, lights dimmed for a cozy feeling for dinner.
We’ve got a daily special of Lobster Gnocchi, the Ratatouille, and an order of spring rolls.
The only let downs were that the spring rolls are not made fresh and they fall apart when trying to dip in the peanut sauce.
Also everyone around us asked about happy hour which isn’t offered anywhere other than bar seating which is kind of a bummer and forced us to order less. But we still loved our meals and the service was great.

Awesome. This place had such great service right from the beginning that I was so impressed.
I forget our server’s name but he was one of the best Ive had ever. He was quick, funny, attentive but not in a lingering way. You could tell that the culture of this business was very good just by how happy staff were to be there.
The food was exceptional. I’m picky (probably too picky) I got the white sea bass and it was perfect.

Highly recommend this establishment.

I think this place doesn’t get talked about enough in our city. It truly has the space to host three times the people I saw there at the time of my visit. I saw a full bar, dinning room, and full patio area. I went in the middle of the week, it was a delightful experience. It wasn’t packed, it felt intimate, and the weather was beautiful as I sat on the patio. Food was pleasant. Staff were personable and friendly. I felt I could have sat and talked with staff all evening. The menu has a lot of great offerings, I have to come back and try more things. Like I mentioned before, I’d like to see what it’s like on the weekend for this spot. Parking lot is in the back of the establishment facing Excelsior BLVD. This spot sits under an apartment building so it’s peaceful and I’m sure that’s by design. Lucky residents! I’ll be back

First visit, won’t be our last! Maybe all the stars aligned, but Wow. We had ordered the ginger shrimp for an hors d’oeuvre, then ratatouille & grilled salmon. Even a side of crispy potatoes. A rare review for us, but each forkful of whatever we ordered had amazing flavor. We even scraped for crumbs off the bowl of potatoes. Service was excellent, thanks Scarlet! Don’t forget dessert, no wrong choice there either. Plus pleasantly surprised with our bill! Kudos!

I love the interior design, service, and food at this establishment. I also appreciate the interesting menu selections, which offer more variety than other spots in St Louis Park.

This is a great place for a date, a girls’ brunch, or even a corporate meeting.

My mom orders the duck sandwich, which unfortunately is not on the menu anymore. She tried the Kimchi bowl and enjoyed it.

I can’t resist the chicken Mediterranean wrap—the chicken is such great quality, and they’re really generous with the portion size! I also recommend the ratatouille, chicken wings, fresh espresso martini, and hummus platter.

Mill Valley Kitchen: My Go-To Happy Hour Spot with Farm-Fresh Flavors & Cozy Vibes

If you’ve never been to Mill Valley Kitchen in St. Louis Park, stop what you’re doing and go. I’ve been here many times—for birthdays, casual dinners, and of course, happy hour—and each visit just reinforces why this spot is one of my local faves.

Let’s talk about my most recent happy hour adventure. First off, the mussels. Oh. My. Gosh. They come swimming in this rich, flavorful broth that just begs to be soaked up with some grilled baguette. Pro tip: order extra bread. Trust me—you’ll want to mop up every last drop.

Next up: the wings. These aren’t your average bar wings. They come with a tangy sauce, crave-worthy sauce that hits all the right notes—sweet, spicy, and just messy enough to feel like a good time. Pair that with their salmon sliders (yes, they’re as amazing as they sound) and you’ve got yourself a winning combo.

Now, let’s talk shrimp tacos. Perfectly grilled shrimp, fresh toppings, all wrapped up in a soft shell—these were absolutely packed with flavor. I could have eaten three more and still wanted more!

And while I’m not usually one for falafel, Mill Valley might’ve just changed my mind. Their new happy hour version had my vegan friend absolutely glowing—and after sneaking a bite (okay, maybe two), I can confirm: not dry, not bland. Just straight-up delicious.

The dessert shots here? To. Die. For. Just the right size to satisfy your sweet tooth without going overboard. Whether it’s the chocolate mousse, lemon curd, or whatever seasonal treat they’ve got going—don’t skip dessert. You’ll thank me later.

The ambiance here is a whole vibe. Cozy interiors with chic, modern decor that screams relaxed sophistication. And the patio? Tucked away from the road, it’s peaceful and private—none of that loud, traffic-filled outdoor dining you get elsewhere.

I do have one teeny-tiny complaint: they’ve taken the flatbreads off the happy hour menu. I miss them deeply. But with everything else still this good, I’ll survive.

Whether you’re catching up with friends or just need a midweek treat, Mill Valley Kitchen delivers every time. From the fresh, farm-to-table flavors to the warm, welcoming atmosphere—this place just gets it right.
