El Cielo is a new Mexican restaurant in Giddings. Its prices are comparable to its closest competitor. It does not offer free ice cream. The food was good. I had the coconut shrimp. I don’t know if their wait staff was adequately staffed for the day but service was slow. They were slow to refill beverages.

I loved it. The others in our group really enjoyed their Mexican selections. I ordered the Seafood platter. I was amazed at the amount of fish and shrimp on that huge platter of food. It was definitely enough for two. I brought home a big “To Go” box and am still enjoying the delicious food. The fried catfish were just perfect, fried but not greasy. About a half dozen large butterflied shrimp. Great friends and a wonderful salad. I highly recommend El Cielo’s in Giddings Texas. Seated immediately and service was great.

We decided to give the new Mexican place to try and boy was that a good choice. The place is completely brand new on the inside and it looks very nice. The service was excellent. There were two servers working and they both helped wait on us, so great teamwork. We got the Norteño platter which has beef and shrimp fajita and it was a lot to eat as you can see from the photo. The flavors were all delicious, some of the better fajitas I’ve had!
We also had the queso and it was decent, but not necessarily great, needs a better real cheese flavor.
We definitely plan on coming back here. Gracias El Cielo por la deliciosa comida!

Failry new restaurant, so everything was bright and new. They have a large menu to choose from. Both meals we ordered were very good but. They served pico with lettuce and Alvarado all on the main course plate. It made the meal soggy on the pavlano pepper. That needs to be on separate cold plate.

Food was OK, nothing to write home about. My son liked their seafood enchiladas and that was the best part. My fried avocado wasn’t cooked correctly, but as long as it took to get our meal, I wasn’t dare going to send it back. One thing about this place is that it is WAY overpriced… It is expensive to eat here! It was only the three of us and we didn’t have anything fancy, 2 waters and a $4 glass of tea, and it cost us $90 to get out the door… We will not be returning here… There are more affordable options in town for the same and better food.

Our first time eating at this restaurant. Me and my husband ordered the special of the day. Two cheese enchiladas, carne asada, Mexican rice and beans. Came out real hot. And had great flavor. We really where very pleased. Customer service was excellent. The restaurant was very nice and clean as well. We definitely will be returning.

Newer Mexican restaurant. We thought we would try it out and we were pleasantly surprised! Really good food and service. Fresh and new interior and very clean. I loved the salsa- more of a fire roasted type- yum!
