I called by phone to place a take out order on a Saturday at 4:40pm. To note, this was an order with 5 total dishes. Nothing crazy or anything major.
Long story short – they messed up our order TWICE! They missed items in our order BOTH times (a La carte chicken tacos, rice and broccoli sides), and then served the WRONG items (pork tacos instead of chicken tacos and AGAIN did not add the a La carte tacos).
They were apologetic, but it was extremely irresponsible to mess up an order not once, but twice.
66 miles later and 2 hrs later (we drove back and forth THREE times), and we finally got our money back. The second time my husband picked up the order, they were confident that the order was correct. It wasn’t….
Please double check your orders before taking them home if you’re doing takeout or door dash. Especially if you have an allergy!
Pictures are of pork tacos which we never ordered, and the a la carte tacos which we never received TWICE.
Be careful coming here.
One issue was the restroom situation. Despite the restaurant’s size, the bathrooms were single-toilet only, which caused a wait just to wash my hands. When I finally got in, the sink was filled with what i only hoped was beard hair. If it was left by the previous customer, it should have been cleaned (but why was he shaving in a restaurant anyway?); if not, it was especially concerning. Regardless, it was gross and very surprising to see in a restaurant.
We also had two uncomfortable interactions involving our baby. Our waitress was friendly and kind, even bringing complimentary strawberries for her. However, when our baby became restless, she offered to take her from us so we could eat. While I can only hope the intention was kind, it was inappropriate for a stranger to offer to hold our child. My wife and I declined, and she seemed embarrassed, avoiding the table until it was time for the check.
As I waited for my card back, a different, older waitress brought us a bag for our boxed food without us asking, which was appreciated. Before walking away from the table, this older waitress began fawning over our little one, then suddenly grabbed her from my father’s arms without warning. Our baby cried immediately, and so she handed her back, but it was alarming!
Our child is just over a year old, and these are the only two times strangers have crossed boundaries like this. I’m leaving this review to make other parents aware that, while the staff may mean well, there were instances of behavior that felt inappropriate. It’s better for parents to be prepared and cautious.
When we arrived, almost all of the tables were filled. The bar (I counted 18 bar stools) were empty. We were seated in a booth near the bar, but asked to move to the bar because the spacing at the booth was pretty tight. The other booths looked to have more space.
We were given a basked of chips and fresh-made salsa. Not spicy, but flavorful.
I ordered the lunch flautas, which were filled with chicken and topped with melted queso, lettuce, and a side of rice and beans. I meant to ask for black beans, as I’m not a fan of re-fried beans (but they were good).
My husband had a steak burrito from the a la carte menu. He said it was very good.
I had a glass of wine with my meal. I asked for a Pinot Grigio, but they didn’t have any, so I had a Sauvignon blanc.
Jose was our server and he was very nice.
There is outside seating with many tables. However, you cannot order alcohol at this time, only if you dine inside. How crazy is that!? I hope they get their license soon.
We’re glad to have Aye Toro in our community.
Everything was amazingly good!
We ordered
Drinks: a classic mojito (my mom was so happy they made it with real mint !) & a peach margarita that was huge and so tasty
Food: nopales (something different but good! Thought it was going to be sweet but just another type of pico ! )
Empanadas *chefs kiss* we did the beef ! So good
Camarones Acupolco (I think) so good and so fresh tasting !
Steak fries – soooo good !
Everything tastes like it’s made
With love and fresh ingredients!
Even the complimentary chips and salsa were top notch !
With everything we spent $80 and have plenty to take home !
Can’t wait to come back for more!!
