If you’re craving authentic, crispy, and flavorful dosa, this is the place to go! The dosa was perfectly golden and crisp on the outside, soft inside, and served piping hot. The sambar was rich and flavorful, and the chutneys were fresh and well-balanced.

The masala filling was deliciously spiced without being overpowering. Portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh. The service was quick and friendly, and the overall atmosphere was clean and welcoming.

Definitely a must-visit for anyone who loves South Indian food. I’ll be coming back again for sure!

I met my friend here for lunch. The owner was very kind and attentive. He helped us with the menu; there are tons of delicious options to choose from! I settled on the goat vindaloo with garlic naan and a mango lasse. The food was cooked to perfection and just the right amount of spicy. I left very full and content with my meal, and the fantastic service. I will definitely visit again!

I asked the guy who works here, whats good in chicken starter and he recommended karvepaku Chicken which probably is their most unsold item. It was probably stir fried in curry leaves paste and served like that without any other spices, absolutely terrible in taste, a bitter taste that left me with a bitter feeling. He didn’t even care when I told him it tastes really bad. Don’t recommend your unsold items when customers ask for a recommendation.

I recently tried Indian Hot Breads. I had the paneer, chicken, and veg puffs, along with pistachio and gulab jamun pastries.
• Puffs:
• The paneer puff was very disappointing — not worth it.
• The chicken puff was good.
• The veg puff was okay but a bit soggy.
• Overall, the puffs didn’t feel fresh.
• Pastries:
• The pistachio and gulab jamun pastries were delicious and reminded me of Indian-flavored cakes.

Recommendation:
Definitely a place to visit for their cakes and pastries, but I wouldn’t recommend their puffs.

If you’re a vegetarian looking for bold flavors and comforting classics, Indian Hot Breads delivers a feast that’s both satisfying and inventive. This local favorite offers a wide array of meat-free dishes that celebrate the diversity of Indian cuisine.

Top Vegetarian Picks:

• Vegetarian Samosa: Crisp pastry filled with spiced potatoes, peas, and carrots—classic and delicious.

• Honey Chili Cauliflower: A sweet-spicy Indo-Chinese fusion dish that’s a crowd-pleaser.
• Gobi 65: Cauliflower tossed in a bold chili-garlic sauce—perfectly balanced and flavorful.
• Masala Dosa: A crispy rice-lentil crepe stuffed with seasoned potatoes and ginger—comfort food at its finest.
• Papdi Chaat: Crispy crackers layered with yogurt, chutneys, and spiced chickpeas—refreshing and vibrant.

Living in Hamden, we have visited Indian Hot Breads probably 5 times since they opened last year. We have always gotten takeout and the food has been accurate and delicious every time! We have been to other Indian restaurants and this one has a wider variety of food so we were able to try a few dishes for the first time. The cashier is always very helpful and friendly.

We got married in a small elopement on Tuesday last week and after trying a few slices of different cakes decided to order a mango cake from them. It was so good and they were able to write a message that we wanted on the cake! We will definitely keep going back.

The food here has been amazing and it’s right up there with the best indian restaraunts in CT. Great curry and dosa. My go to before and after quinnipiac games and whenever I’m passing through the area. I’ve meant to take pictures of the food and post a review for a while now but by the time I remember to take the picture it’s already gone. Very friendly service here as well and always consistent

Must try for authentic Indian flavours! I have tried other Indian restaurants in CT, and by far this is the closest to Indian taste profile. Perfect balance of flavours, perfect amount of spices, apt quantity! The food is great!
Tried their Podi Masala Dosa, Paneer fried rice and paneer puffs! I would love to cover the taste profile individually, but then it’ll be a long post! In short, if you are an Indian, do give this place a try! A non-Indian better be ready for the roller coaster of flavours
Also, hospitality by the owner is something you will come back to!
P.S. We went back to get more veg and paneer puffs later in the evening
