Such a great little gem and a blessing. Jill and her kids, Kate and Cody, are serving up some great food and wonderful hospitality. We came in super early from Tx and could not check into our Airbnb till later in the day, with the tiredness we found this great place with awesome food and a temporary solution to getting a bed to rest our heads for a bit. Jill, you and yours are definitely doing things right. THANK YOU again.

We are staying at the nearby Hot Springs resort. This place is a great short drive for a really good coffee. Great country store with lots of fun locally handmade things that are actually useful. We had a great cheeseburger and fries and a Philly cheesesteak with fries the fries are homemade hand cut and double fried. The cheeseburger actually is a hand form patty and not frozen so it was delicious and well seasoned. And let’s not even talk about the pie. I had one of each kind, lemon, banana, cream, chocolate, and chocolate peanut butter all were delicious and the crust was amazing. It’s definitely a fun family owned business. You can tell put their love and passion into it and that’s appreciated. We met Peyton and she was wonderful and went way above and beyond and did it all with a smile and laughter.. if anywhere close to this place and want to shop and eat a good meal this is the place

I LOVE this place! This historic 1880’s building has a lot of character! Not only that, the down home country-style food is awesome, the homemade pies are delicious, the staff is super friendly, and the gift shop has all kinds of unique items like wool/alpaca rugs, insoles, paintings, coloring books, jewelry, knives…

Excellent burgers, friendly service, and amazing eclectic place. If you’re traveling through here, stop for coffee, breakfast, or lunch. You’ll be glad you did.
Only suggestion is to get an additional sign that can be seen from the roadway announcing that you serve breakfast and lunch. Like a sign that says “burgers”
We,ve been through here many times and did not know this. We will be back shortly for sure!

On a recent road trip from Cortez back to Denver, we found ourselves in desperate need of a break along the long, desolate stretch of Hwy 285. Luckily, we stumbled upon Villa Grove Trade—a true hidden gem in the middle of nowhere!

From the outside, it looks like a charming little mom-and-pop souvenir shop (which it is), but step inside and you’ll discover so much more. In the back, to our surprise and delight, is a cozy café serving fresh, made-to-order sandwiches, handmade pies and cookies, and a barista brewing strong, wake-you-up coffee—exactly what you need to power through the final leg of a road trip.

The owner/operators were incredibly warm and welcoming. They greeted everyone like old friends and somehow knew just from our tired faces and coffee cravings which direction we were heading. The place is a wonderful mix of restaurant, coffee shop, bakery, bar, motel, and local artisan goods, all rolled into one.

That caffeine and sugar boost was exactly what we needed for the last four hours home. If you ever find yourself near Villa Grove, CO, make sure to stop—this place is absolutely worth it. A must-see, must-sip, and must-snack roadside oasis!

An oasis of friendly people, delicious food, great coffee, and beautiful local art and crafts in the high desert. You’ll be so glad you popped in and supported a local business supporting other local businesses. Love the Dirty Chai (best I’ve had), biscuits and gravy, Pinyon Bagel (everything bagel and add egg), and burgers.

The bread was yeasty, the cheese was cheesy and the potatoes were crispy! The only thing better than the food is the friendly service and mellow vibes.

It’s a wonderful restaurant with lovely people who work here and are very attentive to their customers and treat them well they have all kinds of goodies here as well as soups and pastries that are made locally the only thing that I could say wrong. You can’t tell if they’re open because their open sign is pretty sketchy. But inside is very comfortable and great atmosphere

This place was a very lovely surprise as we drove through the tiny town of Villa Grove. We noticed this very old “1800’s” building and it had an open sign. We just had to stop and check it out!
You walk in through the old door into the front room that is stocked with “useful” things, many locally made. A joy to browse through! In the back is a coffee bar and it appears they have lunch options too although we just went with coffee on the go. It was a highlight of our morning.
