A huge shout out to EVERYONE who told me to get to Colima’s Street Tacos in Chowchilla! This wasn’t just a review—it was a total EXPERIENCE that made me feel right at home! Huge, huge thank you to the restaurant for inviting me back for this experience. I was literally welcomed into the kitchen to see how these fabulous dishes are prepped.
The energy here is UNMATCHED. It is a true family-oriented powerhouse where you are greeted by the husband, wife, and daughter—the literal backbone and structure of the business—with the biggest smiles you’ve ever seen! The cook is a father who is so passionate about his customers that he’s handing out samples as appetizers before the main course even hits the table! These are kind-hearted people and the chefs are masters of their crafts.
I am giving 10 STARS across the board: 10 for the food, 10 for customer service, and 10 for the quality! This is hands down the best Mexican food I’ve ever had in Chowchilla.

Was welcomed in by a lovely couple and offered samples of the proteins. I tried the Pastor, chicken, asada, chupacabra (all meats). They were bubbly, friendly and accommodating. The most memorable part was their food. Incredible flavors, awesome salsa bar, a molcajete with fresh green salsa. It was a heavenly experience. Blown away by what the had to offer. The best Pastor I’ve personally ever had. Will be back any time I’m in the Chowchilla area.

I was passing by Chowchila and I got off highway 99 looking for a place to eat. When you open the door, the wonderful Mexican food smell hits you, which let’s you know their food will be good. The lady at the register greeted us and answered all our questions about the food. It is reasonably priced with good portions. I got 2 tacos with added avocado and a quesadilla. The food was fantastic, and they have a little bar in the middle with all the extra fixings for your taco. I would highly recommend stopping here if you are passing thought to get something g to eat. Good parking, great service, and excellent food.

I called a head of time to see if they make Keto Style Tacos (Cheese Shell), and they told me they did. When I showed up and ordered they did not disappoint. My co-worker and I were greeted and asked if this was our first time, in which it was. Because it was our first time they provided us with samples of their meats. The pastor, chicken, and asada. Couldn’t decided cause they were all good, so I had choose them all. I cannot wait to come back for lunch. I highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a delicious lunch and or dinner.

I happened upon this gem of a restaurant off the 99 in a town called Chowchilla. It’s become a habit and mandatory stop when traveling from Modesto to Fresno. It’s run by a beautiful and especially kind family with a passion for excellence. I know good, authentic Mexican food having grown up in a Spanish family in Tucson. This place is top of the line.
I have the carne asada (grilled steak) tacos every-time. Finely grilled and chopped to order, each with a heaping serving of fresh guacamole, cilantro, onions and pico de gallo.
The shrimp tacos are high quality, and the tortillas are so soft they practically melt. The pastor tacos are packed with flavor, $1.50 on Tuesdays. They have Aqua Fresca as well, cucumber, Tamarindo, jamaica and horchata, so good!!! It’s a welcoming spot with great vibes!

WOW! We were driving back from a trip to Sequoia and came across this gem. They were so welcoming and offered us samples of their asada and pastor. Homemade tortillas to order. We watched them press potatoes and make the French fries fresh right away. Ordered vampiro al pastor and carne asada tacos, added the best tomatillo salsa I’ve ever had from the giant molcajete on their counter. Amazing, friendly, delicious.
