The food was good without a doubt, but i’ve had better pasta for less than $30+ for such a small portion size. And better house wine for less than $20 per glass. The small pour of cabernet had quite a but of sediment in the glass.
However, the service was fantastic! Everyone was so kind and quick to assist with any need.
In summary, it is a good place. Unfortunately, I just would not recommend, due to it being over priced.
Again, I’ve had better pasta for less money and includes a larger portion size.
It is rare that I eat a meal without left overs, but I ate the pasta and was still hungry, due to the inadequate portion size for over $30.
It was a good experience, but will not go back.
We started with the Caesar salad, which came with an oil-based dressing and generous shavings of Parmesan—fresh, simple, and beautifully balanced. Then came the Fungi Pizza, with a blistered crust fresh out of their gorgeous oven, earthy mushrooms, and that unmistakable depth you only get from real wood fire. I added a grilled chicken breast on the side and turned it into a perfectly satisfying entrée.
Nadia ordered the Cacio e Pepe, which was creamy, peppery, and just the right amount of rich. Sasha had the butter pasta, and even that was outstanding—pure comfort done right. Every dish was on point, full of flavor, and clearly made with care.
Though I didn’t drink tonight (pacing myself after last night!), I chatted with the bartender—one of the most knowledgeable I’ve ever come across. They even stock both green and yellow Chartreuse, which tells you everything you need to know about how serious they are about their bar program.
It’s no wonder Vina Enoteca earned Michelin recognition back in 2019. And I was delighted to learn the same owner runs Tootsies, another spot I adore.
Service was impeccable—warm, present, and intuitive. Parking was easy, the indoor-outdoor setup is ideal, and the whole evening felt effortless. Vina Enoteca nails it on every level.
Service was friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout the meal. The Bellucci Martinis were also quite good and made for a nice start to the evening.
Overall, an excellent dinner and one of the best meals of our Palo Alto visit. Highly recommended.
I used to absolutely love the fresh pizzas and pastas here. My first two visits blew me away. Then I noticed the pizzas started tasting a bit less fresh. On my most recent visit, the margherita pizza was completely soggy, came with 3 small pieces of basil, and tasted pre-frozen.
They have also removed the complimentary bread and EVOO that they used to serve in the beginning.
I’m not sure if management has changed or if they’re cutting costs by skimping on cheaper ingredients now, but I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant anymore.
I adored their Funghi pizza, while my teens adored their Margherita and Spaghetti Bolognese. Simple dishes, which nonetheless are often made carelessly by many restaurants, but which were well-balanced, had depth and a complexity of flavor which was surprising.
The service was excellent and the interior of the restaurant was spotless and the classic feel of the rustic barn was relaxing and tasteful. It would be a fantastic place for a romantic evening but still relaxed and comfortable enough to take your family and friends. I highly reccomend it!
You can’t beat the ‘chill’ atmosphere if you sit in the lounge or at the bar. Fantastic service. Always professional. Food is delicious. They have perfected a smaller menu which gives them the ability to introduce more mouth watering food options in the future. The bar offers a fantastic variety of spirits and wines to choose from. I recommend making reservations if you wish to dine inside or outside under the tented, heated area because it gets busy. Or you can always walk-in and sit in the lounge/bar like we do. Very friendly vibe here.
There were two main downsides: it was loud, and our table for four was so large that it was hard to hear across.
