This is a staple in Buckhannon and only open in the warmer months. The line was long but moved quickly. They mostly serve ice cream and hot dogs . The store is clean and linens back to the 60’s with its neon sign. They have tables on the side where you can sit and enjoy your sweet treat. This location has sift serve chocolate and swirl as well as vanilla.

the girls that work here are so nice and polite! the service is always good. they get your order done very quickly. i love the little outside seating areas behind the building. the ice cream is always amazing. i’ve never had a problem here! it’s been a favorite for years, all throughout my childhood into my adulthood. i love how they add new flavors of ice cream every once in a while!

I’m not from the area, so I had never been to this location. I was expecting a full size restaurant, but it was one of those mini locations. We only wanted ice cream, so I didn’t really look at the menu board to see what all food items they sold. I know at least they sell hot dogs ’cause they were smelling good. I would have bought a couple but my gf and I had just ate about an hour before. The lady working there was nice, so all in all it was a pleasant visit.

This place is a jewel of Buckhannon. Come here to step back in time and appreciate what Dairy Queen was about from the start. The owner is out almost daily ensuring the building and surrounding areas are clean and kept fresh.
This is a walk up only establishment with outside seating surrounding the tiny, yet fantastically retro, building. Order at one window, pick up at the other. It is Dairy Queen Ice Cream; nothing like a cone of the soft serve to flood the mind with summer childhood memories or to create new ones for your own children. They do not serve hamburgers or all the other items at a full restaurant. This place is for ice cream, blizzards, smoothies, flavored ice drinks, etc.
There is almost always a long line on warm days. Not an detractor, but a sign you are in the right place for a cool treat to stave off the heat. Enjoy!

It’s 830 pm and I’m sitting at the house thinking man an ice-cream would be great. I look online ro see whats open and bam dairy queen. Hell yeah ill get a blizzard. Drive down 845 nah man sorry we are closed. I’ve always hated when place close earlier than what they advertised. 1
