Walked by this place in the Trenton farmers market a few times and finally ordered something. The menu peaked my interest. If you are familiar with Old School Chambersburg then you will love this place! Where are you gonna get Baccala chowder! Everything is homemade and delicious! Ray is a nice guy and friendly. Small sitting area, neat and clean with a fixed and added specials.

At Ray’s Market Cafe inside @thetrentonfarmersmarket in #Trenton, #NJ, they’re serving up CLASSIC #TrentonStyle #ItalianHotDogs (entirely distinct from the #NewarkStyle we’ve been posting about lately). Down in the #GardenState #CapitalCity, an #IHD, sometimes called a Casino Dog, consists of a grilled hot dog topped with mustard, crispy fried potatoes, and oil braised bell peppers cooked until they’re super soft. It’s all stuffed into a soft, local, fresh baked “torpedo roll” that can withstand the toppings. Ray formerly worked at both the #Chambersburg famous Casino Hot Dogs, and later on for a couple of Tony Goes locations in Hamilton when the original Sbarro family expanded into the suburbs. Now, Ray’s out here on his own, and these dogs hit the spot! Check them out Thursday thru Sunday during the market’s regular hours. They’ll extend hours to Wednesdays starting in the spring once all the farmers come back! #TrentonMakestheWorldTakes #INeverSausageaHotDog

OMG, hands down best Roast Pork Braciole in the area. Tender juicy meat with lots of flavorings. Friendly environment. Definitely returning.

My good friend Tony and I had an Italain Hot Dog today at Ray’s Market Cafe. It was EXCELLENT. The wonderful taste and quality of that sandwich took as back to the way they tasted at the Casino on Anderson Street in Chambersburg. The roll was very fresh and the peppers and potatoes were cooked to perfection. As far as we are concerned their Italain hot dog sandwich is the real deal. I will definitely be back for another, as well as, ordering some of their other delicious specialties.

The cafe is clean, welcoming, and the food is always great! You can tell Ray and his team put a lot of love and pride into their food—I love watching them cook. 10 out of 10 experience! I love the breakfast sandwiches there. I made the mistake of asking for no potato in my Italian hotdog, but I’ll definitely try again with the potato next time!

The Hamilton Township Municipal Court had a Ray’s delicious
Italian hotdog luncheon. Never have I seen so many happy faces. A whole new group of future Italian hotdog devotees will be visiting Ray in the future. Thanks, Ray, for a great meal.

Ray’s Market Cafe is a fantastic addition to the Trenton Farmer’s Market, offering classic Italian fare such as sausage and pepper sandwiches, pork braciole, and pizzelle. Everything is made fresh, and prices are very reasonable.
For the locals, they also offer some regional favorites that you won’t want to miss. The Italian hotdog (served with green peppers and potatoes) is a must-have, and their steak sandwich that will be very familiar to those who remember Pete’s Steak House.
Whether you’re from the area and chasing down memories of the Feast of Lights in Chambersburg, or just want a quick bite in a relaxed atmosphere, make sure you check out Ray’s.

This cafe is in the Trenton Farmer’s Market. We had eggs, sausage and toast and a small soup. The breakfast was basic, hot and fresh. Pasta Fagiole soup was hot but a bit watery and not much seasoning. I know they have been open for two weekends, but they have no menus available yet and prices are written in the counter. They did a very nice job renovating this long empty stall. Good luck in your future!
