I found all three at Tasty Indian Bistro in Abbotsford.
I’ve been a loyal pilgrim to the Delta location for years—long enough to know that consistency is their quiet superpower. So I arrived curious, hopeful, but with standards firmly set. I’m happy to report: Abbotsford did not merely meet them. It matched them, stride for stride.
Inside, the cold rain was forgotten instantly. The room glowed. Cozy, polished, welcoming—like stepping into a familiar story told in a new chapter. The service was calm, confident, and warm, as if they knew exactly what kind of night it was and exactly what I needed.
And then, the food.
The lamb shank arrived like an old friend—rich, tender, deeply spiced, collapsing at the suggestion of a fork. It tasted exactly as it should: slow-cooked patience, perfected over time. Some dishes don’t need reinvention; they just need respect. This one has both.
The veggie Manchurian, however, brought a little spark to the evening—crispy, saucy, bold. Comfort food with swagger. The kind of dish that makes you forget the rain entirely.
By the time I stepped back outside, Abbotsford was still cold, still wet—but I wasn’t. Tasty Indian Bistro had done what it always does best: turned a bleak night into a memorable one.
Delta may have my history, but Abbotsford has earned its place right alongside it
Had mumbai style poha, I can vouch for the authenticity. Really the best poha I had in Canada. The channa bhatura was also delicious.
Didn’t try their lunch menu, but I’m sure its gonna be good.
Portion sizes are huge compared to prices. Definitely recommended.
Food came out fairly quickly although not well timed so one person at my table was waiting for a while and we weren’t informed why until I asked if their food was coming.
Good menu knowledge from the server (she knew what items had milk in them and what accomodations could be made).
I had put off coming here as I heard the service wasn’t great, but was pleasantly surprised. I’ll have to try again during a busy time to get the full picture.
To top it all off, our server Kritika was attentive and kind hearted. She topped up our cups before we’d ask, and removed dirty dishes as soon as we’d finish them. Excellent service, and a joy to have around!
The vibe for this venue is luxurious and extravagant
So inside looked even more impressive. The service was impressive. The overall ambience & the synergy of decor, service, food made for a oneOfAKind experience at a reasonable price.
So happy to have experienced this. You almost feel like if you can have it all, why would other restaurants not able to do as well of a job.
PS: definitely go and experience the bathroom, even if just to wash your hands. The most creative & beautiful I have seen. (See pictures)
The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding. Everything was perfectly timed and well organized, which made the entire evening stress-free for us. We truly appreciated the effort from the staff and especially the manager, Jaspreet. Hands down some of the best service we’ve experienced. Highly recommend!
Our server was excellent, very attentive, and helped make excellent recommendations for food and drinks.
We enjoyed a few appies to share, including the corn chops, masala fries and the paneer flatbread. All were good, but the flat bread was our favorite. Then we shared the coconut curry, chicken tikka, as well as the butter chicken, accompanied with rice and the garlic naan. Between the 4 of us, there was lots to take home as portions were well sized and the appies we filling as well. The dessert options sounded delicious but we were far too full.
The only downside was the cocktails, I had the 2pm in goa at the happy hour price of $18, glad I didn’t have to spend the full $21. For the price, it was incredibly bland and tasted more like mildly flavored water. Wanted to try their special cocktail items as something different, but for the extra price I’d sooner have a pop.
