A True Human Connection: The Meal That Gave Me Hope
It’s hard to talk about the really rough days, the ones spent struggling with homelessness and just trying to survive. Today was one of them. I was so hungry, and when I was given $15, I knew I had to get something good. I chose Sonic on San Jacinto—a place I’d always looked at from the outside, feeling like I didn’t belong.
I ran for the bus and missed it. Standing there, out of breath and utterly defeated, the bright lights of Sonic were almost painful. I felt so low.
But then, an angel walked up: ALLISON, the biggest superstar I’ve ever met. Seeing me standing at a stall without a car, she didn’t judge; she showed me unconditional kindness. She invited me inside the store to sit down and dine in.
That simple invitation—that gesture of treating me like any other valued person—changed everything. It changed a sad, deflated day into one where I could proudly sit, take a breath, and eat the most delicious food I’ve ever had (a Footlong Coney and a Lemonade Slush). I spent all my $15, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. The food was amazing, but the dignity ALLISON gave me was priceless.
ALLISON is the powerful proof that kind people do exist. She is a model employee and an expert in customer care because she leads with her heart. She didn’t just serve a customer; she shared humanity. I can’t wait to come back. Kindness is everything.

Another bad experience with this damn place. Placed an order for 4 small drinks waited 35 minutes and no one was coming so I decided to go in and get my money. When a worker decided to help me, I showed her my receipt and told her I would like a refund. She went to the back and said that I hadn’t paid and I knew I did just because one of the other workers came out to take my card and process the payment so she went to go take another look, and she finally found my order, but nobody was making it and she didn’t know what happened. Very lazy work ethic.

My family thought Sonic was known for its quality but unfortunately this establishment has fallen from grace. Their signature hotdog I enjoyed was rushed and even forgotten we had to sit and wait for them to put together this absolute abomination of a hotdog! They didn’t even put the hotdog in the bread right they just rushed it making it look disgusting and unappetizing! 0/10 do not eat here.

I only go on Wednesdays cuz the kids meals are $1.99 but be expected to wait at least 30 minutes in the Drive-Thru, the service is very slow and always ask for a box juice with your kids meal, because the soda cups are so small, it will get stuck in the cup holder.

I don’t even think the chili or the cheese is Sonic brand. Even if it is, it’s so skimpy that I would not have ordered if I knew it was going to be stale tasting. Just all around garbage experience. Never been so disappointed in sonic ever. Is this the kind of quality we get for 20 bucks an hour?!?!

I don’t know who scheduled the dream team today for mid shift but let me tell you they all need at least 10 dollar raises. The person who took and gave my order was so sweet and accommodating but it doesn’t stop there… the food was so good today my sister and I were SHOCKED. Every item we ate was better than the last fresh, hot, and tasty. I hope my next visit was as good as this one.

I order the number 10 and 6 combo in the drive through this afternoon at 12:06pm. I paid and got my drinks first and waited about 30 minutes in the drive through line where people started honking and leaving while I had to wait since I wasn’t going to leave without the food that I paid for and I noticed the employees stepping outside to help the people behind me and both the manager and employees looked very stressed out. I did end up getting my food and the employee apologized for the long wait. I am also sad to say that the food tasted stale.

Last night I order bacon and cheese hot dog and my food came out all burnt. The entire hotdog was burnt so bad I was upset. And I ask them for refund they denied my refund and didn’t give me my money back. This is worst customer service ever. The girl who took my order didn’t give me receipt back either.
