I visited Cafe 23 in Emmaus, PA, and overall it was a pleasant experience. the service was handled by Alyssa J, and we visit around 9 AM my perfect breakfast timing.
I ordered a 10 oz hot latte with whole milk and vanilla. The latte was priced at $6.00, with an additional $1.00 for vanilla, which is pretty standard for café pricing nowadays. We also order a 10 oz hot coffee with half-and-half for $4.00, which is reasonable and suggests the café keeps their drip coffee at an accessible price.
For food, we got Half Ezra Half Sandwich ($12) and a Samson breakfast sandwich ($12). Based on the pricing, these appear to be more gourmet or specialty breakfast sandwiches overall good quality ingredients and decent portion sizes.

I ordered the Moses Burrito and Breakfast potatoes through DoorDash. I was absolutely floored at the portions for the money I was charged. Elements of each item were also missing. I ordered a side of breakfast potatoes and for $5 I received a portion of potatoes the size of a baby’s handful. It also did not have the aioli that was listed on the menu. The Moses burrito was $21, but the size and quality was only worth $10 max. It was also missing the sour cream and salsa as advertised on the menu. Also, I got like 3 pieces of browned arugula which I thought was garnish, but apparently it was a side salad since I got a big cup of vinegrette. My friend received the exact same order with all the exact same issues. This was my first impression of Cafe 23 and I will definitely not be going back or recommending to anyone I know. For $70, this was a massive disappointment.

It was my first time at Cafe 23 a few days ago, it was a Tuesday early afternoon. So it was fairly calm and quiet and not crowded at all. Walked in and was seated right away. I discovered Cafe 23 on Google while looking for a cafe to visit with friends. The ambiance and atmosphere is absolutely amazingly beautiful! The decor, the fireplace, etc. is so pretty! I loved everything about it. Definitely gives cozy vibes and makes you not want to leave . There is a bike shop next door which you can walk right into from the cafe which is neat as well.
Aside from the beauty of the place, I loved the menu and the fact that it is all biblically based (names for food items, etc.)…such a creative idea. I’ve never seen anything like that before. It’s actually what made me choose to go here while searching Google. The food and beverages were really good! The waitress was very nice and checked in consistently. I will definitely be back again and will recommend this little quaint spot to family and friends. It is a great place for breakfast or brunch which is what I went for. I’m sure it is for lunch and dinner as well but I didn’t go for that yet, perhaps next time. You can certainly go here solo, with friends or for a date. It would be the perfect spot! Definitely check it out, it’s worth it.

First time visiting Cafe 23. Located in South Mountain Cycle on the side as you enter. Restaurant is cute with nice tables and some outdoor seating. Menu is limited so we tred their vegetable omelet, a chicken Caesar wrap and a Samson breakfast sandwich. The omelet was ok but the egg was so thin and looked more like a crape than an omelet. The filling had a small amount of peppers and onions and some greens on the side that I assume was meant to be salad but really wasn’t at all. It came with your choice of toast which was actually the only thing that was a good portion in the order. All other sides are extra charge, which we didn’t want considering the prices were high enough. The taste was ok but definitely not worth the price for what you get. See pics. The chicken Caesar wrap was simple and just ok and had nothing special about it and It came with nothing, not some chips or even a pickle, Nothing At All , which was surprising and disappointing and definitely not worth the price. I could have gone to Wawa for the same wrap and much cheaper too. The Samson breakfast sandwich was just ok too. We went with the bacon and egg but this too had more bread than ingredients and not worth the price. Prices are high and you don’t get your money’s worth. We spent 44 dollars for take out , see receipt, and the food was not worth it in any way. Maybe they needed to focus more on the food instead of the decor. Disappointing and not worth a second visit. I don’t recommend.

Our food took 40+ minutes on a Wednesday morning. The restaurant was not full – just extremely slow. I am happy to wait for good food, but this food was not good. My salmon omelet was salty and dry. My husband’s eggs Benedict was even more disappointing! The yolks were completely solid – like hard boiled eggs. The atmosphere is great, but the food was very disappointing!

I was surprised when walking in. This place is not a normal cafe but a restaurant-style cafe. There was live music which was very pleasant. You can sit anywhere and a server will bring you drinks and food. The menu was very appetizing. My boyfriend and I both got the grilled cheese. I got an iced coffee and he got a hot tea. The food was a decent portion, fresh, crunchy buttery bread and tons of cheese with a side of coleslaw with pretty red cabbage that helped with the fatty richness of the meal. The coffee was good too, no bitterness. Would come here again.

The food itself had good flavor, but unfortunately, nothing came out hot, not the entrees, not the coffee. It might seem like a small detail, but when everything arrives lukewarm, including breakfast items and drinks, it really takes away from the overall experience. The space is beautifully designed, and I get the aesthetic and the pricing strategy, but when the quality doesn’t match the premium price point, it leaves me questioning the value.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience was very disappointing. I will say the service was 10/10 — our waitress was very kind and honestly the main reason we stayed. Unfortunately, the food took about 40 minutes to come out and arrived cold. I could have overlooked the wait if the food was good, but it wasn’t. We each took a bite and immediately asked for the check. It felt like a $60 waste of money. I really wish the reviews had been more accurate so we knew what to expect

The salmon omelette was mid, the first time it came out, it a was burnt. They replaced it, and I’m grateful. But this, this really PMO. I wanted a large cup of coffee for my 5 hours drive. And got a cup of foam so now I have to go to a coffee shop. In the attached photos, I legit just opened lid. Didn’t even take a sip.
