We were staying at a campground in Oxford and I did a search for dive bars and found this one about an hour away. We were greeted by the bartender Rhonda (Big Bird) who is very friendly and knows how to pour a good drink. Prices are great ($3 for well drinks). The bar has a lot of history and we got to meet the son of one of the original owners.

Been coming here with my boyfriend for the last few weeks. Our normal Friday bartender is amazing! Last night was a different bartender. Around 10:30 pm she informed us the bar would be closing “soon” it was clear she didn’t want to make money for the business because as soon as most of the people left the bar she tried to kick us out too. It worked. I didn’t even finish my drink or game of pool. I left immediately because we no longer felt welcome. I worked at a bar for years and I know that you NEVER ask a guest to leave until the bar is actually closed. If you want this bar to make money, have consistent hours and bartenders who worry less about drinking behind the bar while on the clock than remembering the simple drink order a customer said two seconds ago without having to ask 3x what beer we ordered.

I love dive bars and this place was great. Old crowd that likes to chat, yeah that’s my style. Cheap cold beer, love that too.
The bartender didn’t really pay attention to anyone. I ranked service poor because of that. It wasn’t just me. I left after 2, I went somewhere else. I didn’t have any food, not sure if they serve any. So, I can’t really rate food. Different bartender and maybe this place would grow on me. Wasn’t a bad place. I’m just use to attentive bartenders.

It is literally a small dive but not a normal dive. This is literally Clean as hell. And they really take care of you. Come here and have a good time. I’m very comfortable. Screw the water. Come to this bar and play some pool and have a drink 🙂

This is my favorite bar in town, it’s a quaint little dive bar, has good jukebox choices, service is good, the owners are sweet! I don’t really go out anymore but I’d suggest this place, they’ve always been good to me!
