We went to Dharma Bums yesterday with friends, and they totally tricked me — they wanted to see how long it would take me to realize the place was vegetarian. Honestly, it took a while because the food was that good.
Everything we ordered was incredible. The special pot pie was out of this world, the Bravas tacos were amazing, the K-Boy tacos were packed with flavor, and the edamame guacamole was unforgettable — creamy, fresh, and unlike anything I’ve ever had before. The Thai street fries were addictive, and the peach burrata was unreal. Even the kids loved their grilled cheese and had a blast playing bocce and ping pong outside by the fire pit.
Our waiter, Ben, deserves all the credit — one of the best servers I’ve ever had. Friendly, fast, and just a genuinely good person. He explained the menu perfectly, made the kids feel special, and even brought over a soccer ball for them to play with.
The place was packed, the vibe was great, the drinks were strong, and the food was seriously next-level for a vegetarian restaurant. Who knew this kind of place existed in New Hope, PA?
We’ll definitely be back — with the kids, the family, and anyone who loves great food, great people, and great energy. Thanks, Ben, for making it such a perfect day.
Brussels sprout Caesar did not remind us of a Caesar salad but it was so delicious! No regrets.
Falafel sandwich and the grilled cheese with Boursin and tomato were super tasty.
The fries seem to not be your typical frozen ones (unfortunately frozen fries is a common thing in US eateries) and were flavorfully seasoned.
Service is communicative, friendly vibes in general (between the servers and patrons)
The quaint, slow paced and dim lit stylish vibe was the perfect cherry on top for a perfect fall day:)
Will be back.
You should go to!
Outside sitting is first come first serve. The servers are kind and hospitable. Love the vibe.
This place is legit in every way. Great vibe, incredible food, impeccable service and friendly servers, and live music. Everything exudes authenticity and care, and it’s just a really comforting place to have a meal. I was with my kids and wasn’t sure if they would like it since we’re not Vegetarian, but they loved it.
The kids grilled cheese was incredible and a sizable portion that came with fries. I had the Brussels Caesar and the K-lote Street Corn, both highly recommended. So flavorful and fresh, with nice size portions that left us full.
The beer list was great, with plenty of rotating beers from New England and other domestics. Our server was awesome; prompt and friendly and had great recommendations.
We didn’t get to go upstairs because they were prepping for a band to start, but from what I saw through the windows, it looks like an incredibly welcoming space. We’ll have to come back for a show.
Parking lot was big, but packed even on a Sunday at 2pm. I assume all the recent buzz is generating a lot of business, which is awesome for these fine folks.
The restaurant is right on the canal trail and near the Delaware, so after a meal you can take a nice walk by the water. This is a great spot and we will definitely be back!
All I can say is… I’m addicted!!
What a hidden veggie gem (at least for me ) in my area!!
Are you ready? Drum roll please… You are seriously not ready for the food at this place!
The food is fooding here!!
I honestly couldn’t choose what to order — I was overwhelmed (in the best possible way!), and that almost never happens to me. Normally, 99% of the time, there’s only one thing on a menu that catches my eye.
Here? I was wishing I had seven stomachs so I could try everything
Almost every dish can be made vegan and gluten-free, which is amazing.
We had the salad and the falafel naan — and that dish was singing!
The freshness, the flavors, the colors on the plate — a solid 100/10.
Truly, we had nothing to complain about.
The portions are huge (we were kindly warned about this by the super sweet waitress when ordering).
It was hands down the best vegan meal we’ve had in a long time — 100% worth it.
The only downside for us was the outdoor seating. The benches and tables outside didn’t quite match the top-tier food experience. That part could definitely use an upgrade.
The garden itself is very pretty though, and the interior is nice — maybe a bit too ambient for our taste, and the AC was blasting a little too strong.
Still, if you care about PLANT BASED, excellent, fresh, high-quality food with unique twists, you have to come here. You will not be disappointed.
See you soon, guys!!
