Stopped here on a random. Not from maywood, but I hoop out this way. Figured I’d grab something to have for the trip home. They look like the been in the community for decades. It taste like they been here for a reason. I love this style of sauce vs other thicker sauces. Ordered a small tip but portion looked huge. Meat was tender and fresh even though I was probably the last order for the day. Definitely will hit the spot.

This place was decent. Slightly off the path I was on but I wondered over here to try out some bbq. I wanted to give this place a 4 stars but that bbq sauce just wasn’t hitting my taste buds right! Too much vinegar in the sauce for me. More honey or something… but the fried chicken was really good! If I go back I would ask for no sauce and I would give it a 4 star. Location was in a rougher neighborhood but not crazy. Worth a try but don’t go far out your way. Support local businesses regardless!

The meat requires more seasoning for a better flavor, although it is tender. The sauce is a bit thin. I am a Pumpkins BBQ fan but they were closed. This was my second choice after doing a Google search. Not bad bbq, but I don’t necessarily have to come back as a state of urgency.

I Love this place been eating here for 30yrs. I try to go every other week it’s family ran and family feel. I do recommend for anyone new and old to the area once you have try the ribs no one else will ever do.

EDIT: 1/25/17 noticed the lights on last week and stopped in, owner told me she had some health issues, but was still open! Stopped in last night at around 6 with my son and got tips. Place actually smelled like smoke, good sign. INCREDIBLE tips. nice deep smoke ring perfectly done. There’s not many authentic rib places I haven’t eaten from (so many now closed) on the west or south side, these were first rate! Changing this to a 5
NO LONGER OPEN> Should have known not to trust the internet. 6:30 on a Wednesday place is dark and closed. No sign saying its a seasonal thing. Don’t bother. Must be out of business.

This was my first visit to this restaurant and I will definitely be returning,….I had the large rib tips and they were fantastic They we’re tender, moist ,and oh so tasty……and a huge portion as well. Some places can be decieving, but as run down and beat up as the building is , the BBQ here is top shelf and Penny the owner is super nice……so people, I have done the hard work for you…..now come give this awesome joint your hunger to satisfy. Bon appetit!!.

My best friend and I live in south Florida and we flew up to Chicago specifically to come here and order rib tips. We ordered over $1000 worth of rib tips that we vacuumed sealed and brought back to Florida. We make an annual trip here every year. The food is amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

had Been coming here for over 20 yrs, loved the ribs ♡.. but last time I was here about couple months ago..ordered 2 full slabs. sad to say my ribs were under cooked ..super though..had to cooked them in my air frier gor another good 30 min.. looking fir a new bbq place. 🙁
