The best Vietnamese restaurant in Reading! Tried for the first time and had super food. As half Vietnamese myself I struggle to find truly authentic Viet food and finally found Pho 86.
Would highly recommend and ignore the bad comments – food is 10/10 and definitely try the Vietnamese coffee as it was divine!!

A wonderful and traditional Vietnamese restaurant in Reading. The staff are all friendly and attentive and the food is fantastic. Being Vietnamese it isn’t just Pho on the menu. There are a variety of traditional starters from spring rolls to soft shell crab then mains have many sizzling meat fish platters (separate, not together!). Portion sizes are decent. You may end up having to take some home if you order starter and main.

Loved the summer rolls with prawns. Huge portion. Easily shared by two but would even do four with another starter. Noodle dish was huge, too much for me to finish. Tasty but a bit bland until sauces were added ( these and pickled are on the table for you to add). My hubby liked his wok stir-fry. The restaurant is very nice and service is excellent. The restaurant was a bit cold, needs some geating. Good value.

Hi everyone, my wife and I visited this vietnamese restaurant two times already and I want to share our experience, we first seen this restaurant when it wasn’t even open, we always keep an eye out for new viet shops/restaurants as we love the food.
I really want to recommend this place to everyone in the area, both times we visited our food was fresh, delicious, amazing smell, good looking, quick serving, the portions are very generous, standard UK prices, but still lower then the franchise Pho chain which helps. The food was really good and nicely prepared and the taste is very close to the restaurants in Vietnam, most staff members if not all are viet and you can tell this because the food it really authentic, they even serve some dishes that we only found in Vietnam like the real chicken leg, also the staff members are very friendly and polite. We really recommend the Pho bo tai or chin, banh xeo Saigon, Bo Kho, the spring rolls (cha nem/cha gio) or even the bo kho, of course many other dishes available, just check the pictures !

Good experience, nice food, good price and nice staff. Would have been 5 star but some things on the menu were not available and although I warned them I have a wheat allergy and the staff tried to take care of this, the menu wasn’t marked GF anywhere. All in all happy to eat there.

My wife and I are vegetarians, we have been to Vietnam and eaten Vietnamese food elsewhere in the world. Pho 86 does not disappoint.
We enjoyed the Tofu Spring rolls, the Vegetarian Tofu Pho and the Briased Tofu and Aubergine stew.
The service staff were lovely and I would certainly recommend a visit if the food of South East Asia is something you enjoy.

The actual menu has a lot more dishes than the advertised one, some of which are not even found in London. The price is very reasonable for central Reading. Also, beautiful decor!

Highly recommended! Amazing food, high quality and you can taste all flavours. Its a family restaurant and you can tell for the taste how authentic it is. We had the special Pho, shrimps and lamb. All recommended!!
Also, the staff is very nice and friendly. The restaurant is beautiful as well with nice decorations and good standard on hygiene.
One of my friends needs to have gluten free food and the waiter was very kind and double check multiple times that all her food was save to eat.
