Lots of meat choices (lengua, tripas, asada, adobada, pollo). The food is overly salty. I’m going to keep looking for amazing food. The staff were friendly and the location was interesting, multiple bullet holes through the windows, some repaired with silicone.

This place is a beacon of light when it comes to Mexican food! Their birria tacos were the perfect balance of robust flavors. The most interesting part of my visit was the award winning asada tacos. These are not your ordinary asada tacos, these are special. The chef infuses bacon in the beef when marinating. The result is a savory, smokey and one of one taco experience. The pickled red onion added a unique twist and complimented the taco very well. Overall you get a mix of different flavors that pared so well with each other.
When I asked the owner what made his cuisine different he said “our customer service. We take pride and joy into everything that we do” It truly shows in his craft, grab yourself a taco (or maybe 3) and experience a new dimension of Mexican cuisine.

The folks working here are friendly and the restaurant’s clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed their handmade tortillas but found the birria to be almost inedibly salty.

The owner was so cool to talk to! He is the original family owners and for him to open back up and do some amazing upgrades to the atmosphere. Made me feel like I am walking into friends house for dinner. New Taco Spot for sure! We ordered his original birrias tacos best flavor in TC!

The BEST tacos in the TC (and yes, I know that’s a bold statement!!!) this place has become our favorite lunch date spot. If we come in the evening, we often get the 3 tacos + a beer for $10. My favorite are the pastor tacos. THEY ARE TO DIE FOR. My hubby loves the carnitas. Don Rubio’s is consistent, welcoming and delicious.

Don Rubio’s is a taco lover’s paradise, and as an avid connoisseur of tacos, I’ve been around the tortilla block a few times. But let me tell you, Don Rubio’s takes the taco crown with a flourish! The sweet lady at the cash register? She’s not just taking orders; she’s secretly a taco magician, turning around and crafting the most divine creations you’ll ever taste. It’s like she’s got a direct line to the taco gods or something. And the interior? Let’s just say, it’s so simple it makes a cardboard box look fancy, but hey, who needs fancy when you’ve got tacos that transport you straight to flavor town? Don Rubio’s is a culinary godsend, and my taste buds are forever grateful for the taco enlightenment.
