I’m not sure who is cooking over at Sweet Sweet kitchen but I’ve been a customer for 5 years and I have NEVER received food like this! Burnt chicken and some type of sauce on top of my food that was extremely hot that I did not ask for. I am highly disappointed. When did yall start adding stuff without notifying the customer? I’ve been raving about this place all over social media and have sent hundreds of ppl here, just to get jail food in return is a slap in the face. Food was spilled all in the bag as well. Whole plate went in the trash.

Good Caribbean food and one of the best around the DMV area, if you’re in DC stop by, you will not be disappointed. Parking here is a bit tricky and hard to find since it’s only street parking.

5 stars for 5 reasons

1. The Ox tail is super yummy! So tender, soft and juicy meat! Must try! The cassava leaf with oxtail is a bit salty and it tasted kinda fishy but it was still good nonetheless! Good kick to it for sure! The cabbage is simple but delicious! I could it all day.

2. Second reason- When I entered the restaurant we were greeted immediately with smiles. The young beautiful worker was so nice and genuinely seemed to love her job.

3. The price at first seemed kinda high but if you think about it, the food was made with labor of love. It’s not your typical fast food where you pay 15 dollars for frozen packaged food! It’s labor intensive to make the oxtail.

4. They allow you to sample anything you want and they don’t skimped out when giving out samples.

5. The jollof was done to perfection! This ties all the food together and makes this an overall good food experience!

Will come back to try the jerk chicken which I heard was good!

What drew me to this restaurant was the Jamaican flag on the outside. Didn’t know what country was the other flag, until I went inside.. found out its Sierra Leone. I decided to ✔ it out, and I was so glad I did. The food did not disappoint, it was well seasoned and flavorful. I had the jollof rice and stew chicken. My first time eating Jollof and I loved it. The staff was very pleasant and inviting. Inside was clean, colorful..was loving the ambiance. They had music playing in the background. I definitely recommend this restaurant, you will not regret it.

Just left and was very disappointed the young lady was rude and food was trashhhhh… The first time I went I waited 20 mins for cabbage to go with my brown stew chicken after waiting in line the young lady said she was sorry but that she forgot I was waiting and sold the last of the brown stew chicken to someone else… (crazy right) against my better judgement I gave them another try today and was disappointed yet again.. Only got brown stew chicken just to try before I ordered a variation of things like I usually do.. Chicken was full of straight oil no flavor just grease.. A total waste of $20 threw it straight in the trashhhhhh!!! Will never support this place again and will tell everyone I know who will listen about the nasty food and poor customer service!!!

Despite the rain all day, they opened on time and food was ready. I like the location because you can find a street parking right there. I came early to have seat in and for a first experience, I enjoyed it. The food was well ✔ but what I really wanted was not available yet as it was still cooking: the mighty Ox tail . Being familiar with it, I will come back for another day. Overall, it is a cozy place to explore. Bon appétit

I had the oxtails with the jollof rice and plantains. The oxtail absolutely lit my whole mouth on fire. It could have been so good but I couldn’t get past the heat. It was wayyyy too spicy for me unfortunately. They have cabbage but that was sold out , the rice was okay and the plantains were okay. I would say everything is just okay. I ate outside of the restaurant. If you like spicy this probably is your place but for me it wasn’t a great fit.

Okay – you need to go here. Came by to check out the new Jamaican/sierra Leone restaurant on H. We were greeted by none other than chef Mosada and his borther Chef Milton. They gave us a culinary tour through all the dishes of Sierra Leone and Jamaica. The food was incredible. It’s clear this family knows what they are doing in the kitchen. While talking they were cooking up fresh stews and curries so customers would only get the best.

There’s indoor and outdoor seating. You can get here and park or take the streetcar to h and 5th.

Try the goat curry – you won’t be disappointed.

Saw the Jamaican flag and got interested. The idea of jollof rice with Jamaican cuisine got me to order! Their Montego Bay shrimp has eluded me twice. However, I settled for the oxtail and jollof rice.

I wasn’t disappointed! The flavor is different from Jamaican oxtail but just as delicious. There’s a spice from both the rice and oxtail it’s not for the weak but it was sooo good.

I’ll try again for the curry shrimp but I would have no problem doing the oxtail again.

Great job

I actually enjoy Sweet Sweet’s food, but their customer service is very poor. I’ve called ahead multiple times to confirm they have certain items, yet they never do. They often tell me to come on a specific day, but when I arrive, it’s still unavailable. It’s been a repeated waste of time and a clear example of poor customer service.
