The food lacked quality and flavor. My shrimp scampi had no taste at all, and my husband’s dish tasted like cheap spaghetti with chicken added. Service was also poor. When our server asked if we had questions, she seemed annoyed when we actually asked, which made us uncomfortable.
The wait time was long, and at one point another table’s food was brought to us and then taken back. What made the situation worse was that other tables around us were offered discounts for the long wait, including the table behind us, who also received a birthday discount. We were not offered anything—even after clearly stating we were celebrating my mother’s birthday.
I hate to even consider this, but it’s hard not to feel concerned when we were the only family of color there at the time and were treated differently. Our party of six had an automatic 20% gratuity, which may explain the lack of effort, but that should never affect service quality.
Overall, this was not the experience we expected for a birthday celebration, and we left feeling disappointed and overlooked.

We ordered Chicken Parm and a Fillet. We only eat 1/2 meals and always take home the rest every where we go. The waiter, Juan, took our plates to ‘box them up.’ I should’ve just asked for boxes to do it myself. 25 minutes later our Creme Brulee arrives and I ask for our leftover boxes, he states ‘Of course they’re just in back.’ Another 15 minutes go by with no boxes or ticket. The manager comes out and says they threw it away. They offered us their name and stated the next entree would be on them. We said there won’t be a next time unless they did something for this bill. So they took $50 off a $190 meal for 2, not enough IMO. We had 1/2 each left. I don’t think we’ll be back. No restaurant has every just tossed our meals before. Disappointed to say the least.
We ordered the Cannoli to go, amazing. Our waiter was the best. I will definitely go back again. I won’t order the halibut.
Dining in, they have nice service! The table bread and butter was very nice flavor. The mushroom risotto was phenomenal and my friend enjoyed her sausage with orecchiette pasta while our boys devoured their spaghetti. I love that they offer a kid’s spaghetti with a meatball for $10. The complimentary birthday dessert was delicious as well.
#1 highly overpriced.
I messed up and thought wow they have oysters, obviously they will be the small tasty ones and not the giant gross milky ones that cost like .50 (barf)
If you order Ask first!!!
Oh man were they gross
We didn’t even want to order anything else.
Ended up trying the “minestrone” soup $9
FYI great price and large portion….
But tasteless and missing broth since it’s basically just pasta in tasteless tomato water
The wine was meh. I figured it would be better since the Maryhill red blend they have at the other restaurants are about $13 cheaper.
Would I come here again? Sure if I or anyone I knew wasn’t paying.
I rather go down stairs for steak and lime and lure for seafood.
I got the pasta carbonara, I figured that’d be a good baseline to judge an italian restaurant. It definitely missed the mark. It was not at all like a egg and quality parmesan freshly made dish. And in fact, I’d guess that the fettuccine there and the pasta carbonara are probably about the same. The tiny rock hard pieces of pancetta tasted like they had been sitting out for days. The frozen peas they added in there was a definite miss. I only ate about half of the dish. My waitress inquired, how did I like it?And I said, it wasn’t very good. I make pasta carbonara at home and can make it proper. With that being said, the manager came over and I explained the same thing. The manager expressed dismay, but did not discount my bill at all. Which shows me that they really didn’t care.
It was an expensive dinner by the time I had the oysters appetizer which was actually pretty decent, but half the oysters were tiny. I had to ask for bread…
I don’t mind paying the price for a nice dinner, but it should be on point.
The atmosphere in there was kind of drab, no color. And they let a party with toddler kids run amok throughout the restaurant. Up and down the aisle next to me. That was pretty unacceptable, much like the food.
I won’t be back, that’s for sure.
The food was phenomenal and the waiter we had was attentive, kind, and very thorough helping us understand the menu.
I have autism and can experience sensory issues when going out to certain places depending on the environment. Bella Vista was very calming and staff all had a friendly attitude
I ordered a non-alcoholic drink that tasted off (too much lime juice for myself) and they made me another quickly and without complaint that was lovely.
I had the salmon and my partner had the chicken parmigiana. Our appetizer, the stuffed cheese bread, is in my top 3 of breads I’ve tried in my lifetime. It was superb, and I highly recommend to anyone that loves or even just slightly likes cheese, like myself.
The atmosphere was calm but also comfortable and the view next to the table was amazing. I will be going again! I did get a discount as I am a Cowlitz Tribal member, so I cannot comment to the price of the food, however what we paid was more than reasonable for the amazing quality of food we got.
The food was quite good for the most part, but the chef was a bit crazy with the salt. The ravioli and sauce were quite salty, and even the bread they served had extra salt dumped on top. I ordered a Pinot Grigio to go with my Lobster Ravioli and expected a crisp Italian zing of an acid finish, but the Grigio was a sweet style. I suppose most Americans won’t like high acid wine or understand that it helps cut the cream sauce and refresh your palate as you eat.
I ordered brocolini that was somewhat undercooked and crunchy. I wanted to try the cheesecake with a shot of espresso, but I was told the espresso machine was “broken”. In an upscale Italian restaurant, are you kidding me? The waiter might have offered to go downstairs and get an espresso for me at the lobby cafe, but he didn’t. So I cancelled the cheesecake because I really wanted the contrast of the hot, bitter espresso with the sweet, cool cheesecake.
The waiting staff was ok, but remember you’re way out in the country, so they are kind of unpolished.
For example, the first thing the hostess asked me was, “Do you want the wine list, the wines by the bottle?”
I laughed and said no, I wasn’t planning on chugging a bottle of wine solo over dinner.
The people here don’t really want to be polished, either; it was the casino that came to them, not the other way around. (It was newly built when the Cowlitz Tribe finally won years of court cases to have a reservation on their native lands, so the casino appeared as if from nowhere just about 7 years ago, and its interacting with the existing county culture has resulted in some growing pains all around.)
Would I go back? I might once or twice, but only in the daytime because I really like to see where I am, who’s there, what the decor looks like, and what the food looks like. It’s hard to see any of that with the extremely dark lighting in this place.
