My family and I went last night, as we had previously been there, and the food was good, but last night was not! I ordered a grilled cheese with fries, the cheese wasn’t even melted on my sandwich, and you could tell the fries had already been made and were sitting, and then dropped back in the fryer to warm up. They were stale, and soaked in oil. They were awful!! My husband and son both got the full rack of ribs, which they both said were amazing on a prior visit, but this time, they were put on the plate with some bbq drizzled over the top, they weren’t even coated in bbq. Yes it was busy (deer hunting eve), but that doesn’t mean you should rush and send out poor quality food. I normally do not give a bad review, but this was terrible! Besides the food, our server was friendly.

This is Called Mix’ed up Staples Lake. If the last time you were here it was the Buckhorn, you have not been HERE. THERE IS A NEW OWNER. The establishment has been remodeled, cleaned, there is friendly and courteous staff to make sure you are taken care off. The food is fresh and tasty with specials going all the time. The food and beverage pricing is very fair, with some things being a great value. $2.00 Busch Light cans all day everyday. There are numerous craft beers tap with styles rotating as the seasons change, with several Wisconsin and Minnesota breweries featured. The vibe is casual and fun, because they aim to make it that way. Great place to spend some time with family and friends. Kid friendly family fun. Go to this place it’s great.

My husband and I went on the Mix Up Tour and checked out all the bars for the first time ever. They were all AMAZING! We loved the atmosphere at every location, the great service and the nice outside patios. We met the owner Liz for the first time at Too Mixed Up when they put on a huge benefit fundraiser for someone who tragically passed away. The place was super packed for the benefit both inside and outside on the patio. Even though they were packed full of people and very, very busy Liz came and talked to us all alone and introduced herself away from everyone. She was super nice and we talked for a while. It was great to meet her on our tour as we’ve heard nothing but good things about the owners. Right then and there we knew we’d be going to the Mix Up bars going forward. What an amazing owner to come out of her way to talk to my husband and I. She then took our picture and posted it on the bar’s facebook page. We ate on our 2nd stop of the Tour at Staples and tried out their burgers and they were delicious. Since the Mix Up Tour we’ve continued to stop in at the bars and have had nothing but good service, fun times and amazing food. So far we’ve tried the burgers, fish fry and ribs and all tasted amazing. We will definitely continue to go to all the Mix Ups as Liz and Chad and staff sure know how run a business.

We went to watch Chris Kroeze last night and thought we would go early to grab some dinner prior to him starting. The place was already packed by the time we got there. We were a group of 7 and we figured there was no shot at getting a table. Several staff members reached out to ask how many we needed a table for and took drink orders while we waited. We did have to wait a bit, but we did end up getting a table and were able to eat, all while dealing with high energy, extremely pleasant staff. Kudos to the crew at Staples Lake! You know how to go above and beyond!

A very fun atmosphere! There is a lot to pick from on the menu for food, all the food we have had has been great! The staff all work together and help each other out to make sure people are served drinks and food quickly. They have music on a regular basis and different events/drawings that are fun to attend!

On 1/3/26, five of us visited Mix Up on Staples Lake in Comstock, WI. We enjoyed the friendly staff until we decided to play pull tabs on a marked machine showing three remaining winning amounts: one around $200 and two around $100—over $400 total.
Before buying out the box, we confirmed with staff that the markings were accurate. Based on this assurance, we spent a significant amount to buy out the box, only to find one winning tab worth $100. Two advertised winners were missing and not crossed off.
Staff later confirmed two tickets had been overlooked. When I asked if the machine could be audited, I was told to speak with the owner, Liz. During our call, she was extremely rude, spoke over me, and offered no resolution. I was then asked to leave the establishment after being told they “would have made it right” but chose not to because of my demeanor—despite my efforts to remain reasonable.
This experience was unacceptable. I plan to file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau regarding the missing winnings and the disrespectful treatment I received. I have four witnesses who can attest to these events.

This was our first time here, and I was not disappointed. Everything was great and above what you would expect. Even a live band and a bar & patio outside. Will be back for sure.
Thanks for a great experience July 21. Another awesome meal. July 31 food & service were great. 9 14 24 food was great but the service was not up to par. Food came out at 4 different times with entrees. Would have had more adult beverages but Waiter didn’t come back much. Not that busy at 5 pm. Disappointed! 8 30 25 8 of us came to eat and have adult beverages. Not everyone’s food came out HOT! Sone was sent back

1st time visiting and did not disappoint! Excellent prices and specials. Had the Bacon Bleu on special, 14oz burger and fries for $11! 8 broasted chicken for $10. Would recommend both. The Mixed Up Jalapeño poppers were delicious. Will definitely be back.
