If you’re in the Maitland area and suddenly craving sushi, Wave Sushi will get the job done…. just don’t expect to be blown away. The sushi is decent, but nothing that really stands out from the crowd. The rolls are average in both size and presentation, pretty much what you’d find at most local spots.
The shrimp tempura, though, deserves a small shout-out… it had a nice crunch and good flavor, easily the best part of the meal. Service was fine, atmosphere casual, and prices fair for what you get. Overall, it’s a good option for a quick sushi fix, but not necessarily a place you’d go out of your way to visit.

I was recommended to try out weight sushi by a friend who recently moved from Florida to Denver and knew that I was planning to move to Florida, so it was definitely on my list. I decided to stop by and was really glad I did. The food was absolutely delicious; I ordered a soft-shell taco, shrimp tempura roll and a side of crab Rangoon fritters. Everything arrived hot and tasted fantastic. I’m looking forward to returning to try more dishes from their menu. I think the pricing is quite reasonable. The restaurant’s decor is expected nothing eye catching it inviting, especially the patio. I do love the window into the kitchen, which is located in the hallway. The service is quite self-guided, mostly involving you ordering at the counter and then having the food brought to your table. Overall, I’m excited to go back and explore more of what they offer.

Was very excited to dine at Wave sushi, unfortunately the excitement turned to dread. We arrived around 7pm got settled looked over the menu and ordered. I placed an order off of the anti valentines menus the Black Parade sushi roll and the Heartbreak roll. I also bordred a love roll, krab taco and dumplings.
After placing my order we sat down, there were 4 people there before us and 3 more came in after us.
I waited over 45 mins for my food not a huge deal as the music was a vibe and we were having great conversations however others were getting there food before me even though they came in after me.
The 2 rolls off the anti valentines menu were excellent chefs kiss the dumplings were superb as well.
However the love roll and the crab taco that came out on the same plate tasted strange. The kind of strange that if you at it you know you would be sick.
I pointed this out to the staff and I was told there was nothing they could do as they were not allowed to take it back. I asked what options I had they said they could re make it but at this point. I am not sure remaking it would be an better. Not to mention the people I came with have finished all their food and I was not sure I wanted to wait another 45mins for more food.
The staff would not give me a refund so I had a plate of food I did not eat and was not going to take home as something was seriously wrong with the food on the plate.
I was very disappointed. I live in the area and though I found a new place to enjoy sushi.
Definitely won’t be going back. If customer service and making things right is not a priority there are plenty of other places in Winter Park and Maitland to spend my time and money.

We. Made. It!!!! I have been following this awesome restaurant online for years – great work on your marketing! My friend and I literally talked about making a trip to Florida just to come here! My kids happened to have a national competition in Orlando this week so HERE WE ARE!
This place absolutely lives up to the hype! We tried various items from the menu and they were *all* excellent and fresh. We tried the sushi burrito, sushi pizza, sushi burger, hot cheeto encrusted tacos, and a few rolls.
If you have the chance, you need to GO! Their staff is friendly and wonderful. They pay attention to the little details and make beautiful food. The experience is awesome. My whole family was smiling ear to ear. And the restaurant is beautiful!

Im not one to leave reviews unless im extremely pleased/ disappointed. I ordered from uber eats about a week ago and was shocked at how good the food was and the amount of salmon inside my burrito(especially since it was through uber eats and places tend to skimp), it was an amazing deal for the amount of food and i was ready to make them my sushi spot so i was gonna wait until i tried them again to leave a review. Well it definitely was too good to be true, ordered again today and there was literally one slice of salmon in the burrito, the rest was an insane amount of spring mix which after removing left me with the saddest looking burrito. I dont understand why staff isnt trained to be consistent. So needless to say, very disappointed and will not order again.

The restaurant is small but it offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and there’s plenty of parking in the plaza.

I was going to pass on Wave since some of the more recent reviews were lackluster but I’m glad I didn’t. It was my first time, so I went with my safe option, classic spicy tuna and shrimp tempura rolls.
The food came out in good time, I ordered and ate lunch within my 30 minute unpaid allotment. It was filling and refreshing.
The vibes and music were great for a weekday lunch, and there is a lovely mural on the wall that showcases their unique menu items. I’ll come again and decide if I’ll give the fifth star after I’ve tried some of the more interesting options.

Wave sushi was good we when tried it for lunch! Wait time was average they were moderately busy. The sushi taco was interesting for sure, as well as the burrito! Definitely worth a try if you want to be adventurous! I stuck with a signature roll. Mine was good, but our friend’s spicy tuna roll did have a slightly “off” taste. Come try out the unique offerings at Wave Sushi! They share a building with some other vendors, so it’s a nice stop!

Look at this roll. It is piled high. The flavor was on point. The place is set up as a quick service. Order and take a number. They will bring the food to your table. There is no waiting on tables. I find this to be easy. Unlike some sushi restaurants that are going high-end, this one is low key with the same high impact plating.

We were super excited to have a WAVE sushi so much closer than the Mount Dora location, it is over an hour drive for us, but we have been many times! This location is small, but it works….and the service was quick and thorough. We LOVED the Crab Rangoon fritters, a simple must try!!! The OG hot dog is big and pricey, but very good flavors….although a lot of rice for the “bun”. The sushi fries were good but had a slightly odd flavor that i did not prefer….but mostly good. We will be back to try more new things and for sure get the crab Rangoon fritters again!!
