Reviews
Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing Korean BBQ experiences I have had in New England, and I rarely leave 1 star reviews.
Right from the start, the service was a major issue. We were seated and then essentially forgotten. We sat at our table for about 10 minutes with no menus and no one checking on us at all. What made it even more frustrating is that the restaurant was only around 30% full and there were plenty of staff on the floor, at least 4 employees that we could clearly see moving around. It was not busy, and there was no reasonable explanation for being ignored.
After waiting, we had to call someone over ourselves. When a staff member finally came to our table, they looked genuinely shocked that we did not have menus and that no one had been serving us. That reaction alone said a lot, because it confirmed we were not imagining it. At that point, I had already pulled up their menu online just to figure out what we wanted, since we were sitting there with nothing.
We ordered the $42.99 Korean seasoned short rib, and the portion size was shockingly small for the price. It was basically a serving size for one small person, not something you expect for nearly $43. I tried to give it a fair chance, hoping the quality would justify the cost, but the meat was extremely disappointing. It was mostly fat, the smell was off, and the taste was unpleasant. I eat Korean BBQ and hot pot regularly throughout New England, and this was honestly the worst meat quality I have been served at a KBBQ restaurant.
The menu description also stated the entrée included peppers and vegetables. What arrived was one slice of pepper and a single slice of onion. For $42.99, that is beyond underwhelming, it felt almost like a joke.
I also ordered the spicy beef shank soup, and it was equally bad. It was a watery soup filled with scrap meat. The meat on the bone was mostly fat, gamy, and very underflavored. Nothing about it felt hearty or well made.
We ended up deciding to leave without finishing the food and went somewhere else. The bill was still around $80 for a gross soup, a few pieces of low quality beef, and three bowls of plain white rice. That is not acceptable value.
To top it off, the waiter also dropped a glass of water on the couple sitting behind us. Between forgetting customers, leaving tables without menus, and service accidents, it felt like the staff may be inexperienced or poorly trained, which is surprising given how many employees were present.
I am genuinely shocked this restaurant is rated as a 5.0 star place. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. Overpriced, low quality meat, poor service, and overall extremely underwhelming.
The food was great! The service was excellent! I will definitely be back!
Would definitely come back!
