Hadn’t been there since it was Tucanos. The previous features worked well with the new decor. Felt cozy inside. Server was very courteous. Food was delicious. Chips and Salsa were good. It would be nice if the little jars of salsa was brought to the table for guest to refill their own so servers save time. Over all good experience. Definitely would go back.

This might be our new favorite Mexican restaurant. The server and all of the staff were very friendly, interacting individually with our four year old too. The food was great, the best I’ve had in a while and the horchata is house made, not the gritty mix a lot of restaurants have lately. We got the chimichanga acupulco, carnitas and a kids quesadilla, all of which were the best we’ve had. 10/10 experience for a nice lunch after preschool got out.

First impression the front looked very nice and the inside was just beautiful. From the wall decor to the amazing wood carved furniture it was fabulous. I’ve been to many Mexican restaurants and this one was a 9 out of ten. The tortilla chips had a beautiful texture and color as it looked like it was done in flame, nothing like plain tortillas chips you get from others. The rice was good but could’ve use more flavoring otherwise it would been a 5 star. The salsa was great, so I had 3 tacos (carne asada , al pastor, chorizo) with rice n refried beans. We had quesadilla, steak fajitas and some other items. The food was really good. They also had a guacamole cart, interesting to watch. Our waiter was slow, not attentive for a very slow night. I would definitely recommend going because I would go back just for other dishes I didn’t choose.

First time being here. My husband and I loved this place. I am always trying to compare Mexican restaurants to Cebollas in Fort Wayne. This in my opinion is just as good if not better! I was very pleased. The proportions are huge and everything tasted excellent! The service is also amazing. I would definitely recommend this place. I believe I will be going here instead of Cebollas any time I want Mexican food!

Food:
They give you a generous portion of salsa and me and my husband each had our own bowls which I love! We never got a refill on our chips, but to be fair we also didn’t ask. Not sure if this restaurant offers unlimited free chips and salsa or not. The salsa is a nice quality restaurant salsa, not too chunky and not overloaded with cilantro (which I prefer).
We each got arroz con pollo and for me this is the best in town. The queso is amazing. The portion size was just right—we each brought home leftovers. A little bit pricier than other places, so I was hesitant, but it’s worth it.
Atmosphere:
The music was a tad too loud. It was busy and lots of voices were echoing and so the voices combined with loud music was a little much. I did feel like we were stuck into an awkward booth near the back corner. It was a tight fit with the table beside ours. Our table was noticeably wobbly. For how new this restaurant is it was disappointing to have a wobbly table.
Service:
Our server was very kind and attentive. He was on top of bringing us refills! I only wish we would have had a chips and salsa refill (again maybe on us for not asking).
Cleanliness:
I’m not sure if it was because of the dinner crowd, but the bathrooms were pretty dirty. The toilets themselves were clean but the floors were dirty and had toilet paper all around.
Overall I think most of our complaints is just due to us coming in on a Saturday at 7pm. We will definitely be back!

Had a chance to visit Rivera Maya in Jefferson Pointe this week and had a good experience. The colorful chips and generous amounts of salad before the meal was a nice surprise. The margarita was tasty and worth getting a couple of. I had the the quesa barria tacos and they were were amazing. The cup of beef birria broth to dip them into made the dish. I think I noticed that one of the bowls that they have on the menu also is served with a cup of the birria broth and that would definitely be one worth getting as well. This was by far the best dish that we ordered. The tacos al pastor were good but not as good as the quesa barria tacos. We were not impressed with the Pollo Loco. The two chicken breasts were smashed down flat and somehow still difficult to cut and chew. We got a small bowl of the street corn queso and I barely got a taste. It’s a hit and the family loved it. The quesadilla seemed packed with meat but didn’t have a lot of cheese. Overall we had a good time, the pricing is reasonable and I will definitely be back for more queso and a margarita!

We came to the area and will be back for this food!! The chilaquiles was an absolutely amazing dish, even the kids rice and beans had so much flavor!

We went to this establishment last night. We were very disappointed to say the least. The place is beautifully decorated and is very clean. However, the chips were nothing special and the salsa didn’t have much taste. It had heat, but that was all. My order was all wrong. I asked for a burrito. It came covered in that red sauce, more gravy than sauce. The red sauce was so salty that they must’ve fried it in the fat drippings or something. A burrito shouldn’t be drenched in all that. Cheese on top would have sufficed. The cheese that WAS on the plate was just nasty and poor quality. My taco on the plate was drowning in this red stuff, it disintegrated into the plate. My rice was fine. My husband’s taco salad was very small and it did not look appetizing. He was far from thrilled with it. I told waiter that the “burrito” was just plain bad. He acted like he didn’t understand English or didn’t believe me. The waiter asked if he could go and replace my burrito with some cheese on it. By then, I had lost my appetite and was done with their version of a put together meal. I’m glad other folks had a positive opinion of this place and didn’t feel they got ripped off. On the way out, the waiter did say, “Now that we know how you like it, we’ll be ready for you next time.” I thought, no next time, buddy, I’ll keep my money.

Came in for lunch, wasn’t busy at all, so we had pretty speedy service. Everyone greeted us with a smile and were friendly with my kiddos. Food was good, environment was chill, and everything was clean.

Atmosphere on point.. but that is where the good service ends. Sat down at about 6:30 waited about 30 minutes for half the drinks to come and then another 10 for the rest. Another 20 mins of waiting and we were asked about food. After an hour of waiting for food we received 4 cold plates and 3 wrong orders. And when we made comments about the food being cold of of the waiting insulted us in Spanish and then walked away. 10 out of 10 do not recommend. Waiting almost 2 hours for food is already enough but for it all to be cold and wrong is a whole new level of despicable.
