Wow. Just wow. We went for my husband’s bday. Did the full course menu and one of us did the wine pairing. I am really not a fan of many wines but the wine pairing did not disappoint. The food was incredible. We got the lamb and the sea bass. Both were cooked to perfection. The first few courses were also wonderful. The ambiance was very colonial america and the history shone thru the decor. Service was impeccable and was very knowledgeable. Our waitress was high energy and very informed about the menu and wines. Also, the whole menu is chef prepared, and most dishes were gluten free, which is rare. We would love to return if we are ever in the area.

Afraid to spill the beans about the Smokehouse in the sleepy Hamlet of Taneytown! SHHHHH! THIS WAS AMAZING! I’ve found my new forever fine dining spot… How have I missed this for the past 6 years!? I’ve been looking for just such a hidden gem since I moved back to PA and I feel so fortunate to have had such luck. Please come and savor every single bite. It was nothing short of fantastic! Thank you, Chef for an incredible gustatory evening spent in the garden with friends and family… BRAVO!

We visited the restaurant for the first time for our 22nd anniversary and I can’t believe a restaurant this good exists in Carroll County! This is definitely a special occasion restaurant because it’s a prix fixe menu ($92pp on the weekend). The food was fantastic! It’s more like a 6 1/2 course meal and if you’re a free one drinker, opt for the wine pairing. I chose the smaller 3 course pairing because they are full pours.
Our server was as also amazing (young, red hair). Gives me hope that good service isn’t dead yet! Definitely worth the trip and the cost!

We had the most amazing delicious meal. Every course was scrumptious , service was impeccable and we also did the wine pairing. I would definitely recommend this place for a great experience.I will definitely be back !

What an absolute beautiful and genuinely perfect experience. From the moment we entered into that beautiful foyer, to the elegant bar area, then on into our dining space….the atmosphere was a step above. Our dinner courses arrived timely and were as delicious as stunning. Staff was attentive and top tier. We will surely be back; again and again!

Upon entering we were greeted pleasantly.
We had a reservation and showed up about 15 minutes before.
The restaurant had others waiting as they haven’t started to seat people yet.
So we were directed to the bar.
The bar is very small but very comfortable.
At the time we were there it was sort of crowded because of the people waiting to be seated.
You could fit about 10 people in here and be comfortable and that would be it, the bartender is more than capable and it has a wonderful fireplace.
While we were waiting, they actually brought out hors d’oeuvres while were waiting.
It wasn’t long till we were taken to our table.
Our waitress was magnificent, we usually don’t dine in places like this and she was very helpful.
We were in a small room with about five tables total.
A very small room, very intimate.
The room had a big fireplace with a big fire and a gentleman playing a piano.
Very nice indeed.
We had ordered the bison, the filet, lobster bisque and each had a wine pairing which was very nice.

Every year during the holidays, our family exchanges gift certificates for this restaurant, so we make it a big event once a year. We went last night and I just have to say that it reaffirmed our love for this restaurant and the people who work there. They are some of the most personable staff. They go well above and beyond to make their guests happy. We were very grateful for the exceptional hospitality Gary and Brittany showed us. They made our evening special and we are so thankful for them. We will continue our traditional family gatherings here each year.
