The sizzling plate arrives like a mission briefing in cast iron: grilled chicken, perfectly charred, layered with molten cheese that fuses flavor and texture into a single operational strike. Steamed broccoli and red bell peppers flank the protein like disciplined support units, while lemon wedges offer a citrus shock to reset the palate. The creamy orange curry on the side? That’s your command center—rich, balanced, and ready to deploy over rice or naan. Steam rises like a flare—this dish is hot, fresh, and tactically composed.

They have our favorite Saag Paneer and chicken tikka marsala. The chicken is big chunks of white meat and the sauce for both is delicious. They are always super friendly and the place is very cozy, though we usually do takeout.
I highly recommend, especially for this side of town

We get use to get take out from this place when they opened a few years ago and liked it but then they started not filling the take out containers as a way to cut costs. We’ve since found another place but I decided to give them another try last night. They now use even smaller take out containers and still don’t fill them. Expect to get about 25% less food on to-go orders than other Indian places. The photo below shows how much food to expect next to a 10oz coffee cup for reference. Order more food than you normally would.

Friendly service and excellent freshly prepared dishes at reasonable prices. We went for dinner and our group tried Chicken Saag (with added vegetables), Chicken Tandoori (served on a sizzling hot platter, was delicious), and vegetarian dishes: Aaloo Bhanta (eggplant dish) and Jafrezy. Naan was hot out of the oven. Highly recommend!

Superb food, spiced perfectly, and you don’t have to drive to Petaluma.

Ive been a fan of the first restaurant in Petaluma, but its a bit of a drive to go there for lunch or dinner.

Till now, the only really good Indian food was at the Torch of India on 4th Street.

Now, with this place so close to home, Santa Rosa has two excellent Indian restaurants.

The place is clean, the decor is very good, the staff is friendly.

Anyways, Ill stop gushing. Get there, do your belly a favour and get the Baigan Bhartha. Smoked smushed eggplant…… You will be impressed. ( it is not on the lunch menu but they will make it for you if you go for lunch).

And the price is very reasonable too.

Have fun.

We just had Thali platters to go the other day and the food was delicious. I had the Baingan Bharta which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The salad, naan and dal was fantastic as well.

We used to come here frequently in the past and will definitely be putting Everest into regular rotation as the food was great and we moved into the area, so it’s very close.

Update:

We’ve been here many times over the years and we live very close by, so it’s very convenient for us but this is the second time in a row where we’ve been really disappointed with the food (maybe they have a new cook?). One of the dishes we ordered tonight was Chana Saag which has to be one of the worst iterations we’ve seen (and we’ve also had good CS from this restaurant in the past): extremely bland, hardly any seasoning and what looked like a tiny bit of frozen chopped spinach thrown in. The time before this, we had ordered Aloo Gobi which we had liked very much from this restaurant but last time it was very watery and bland. We’re out $55 (takeout is a rare treat for us these days due to the economy), so we’re really bummed. We will not be returning and spending any more money here after this.

The food here is an absolute delight! I ordered lamb curry to share with my toddler son, and the lamb was cooked to absolute perfection! It was perfectly tender and fall apart on the fork, easy for my young son to chew. Spiced and seasoned just right. Flavorful. Delicious. I couldn’t find any other restaurant that cook the lamb so perfectly. We will be back.

I use to love this place, when I lived by Calistoga Rd. Was so excited to order my usual Butter chicken (mild & medium spice), basmati rice & vegetable pakora. It was nothing like the usual amazing taste. I went online to see if the place was under new management, but sadly it had not. The butter chicken was extremely bland, the rice is different, I can tell they are using different meat for the dish. So sad to see another good place in Santa Rosa loose it’s “touch”.
