Harry’s American Bar & Grill is a classic spot in Louisville if you’re looking for great food, quality drinks, and a polished atmosphere.
The food is consistently good, with a menu that feels upscale but still comfortable and familiar. Everything we ordered was well prepared and nicely presented. They also have a strong liquor and cocktail selection, which adds to the overall experience.
One important tip — make a reservation. The restaurant gets busy, especially on weekends and for special occasions like birthdays. Having a reservation makes the experience much smoother.
The vibe is timeless and elegant, making it a great place to celebrate a birthday with family or friends. It feels special without being too formal, and the service is attentive without being overbearing.
Overall, Harry’s American Bar & Grill is a solid choice for a celebration, date night, or family gathering, offering good food, good drinks, and a classic dining experience.

Tried to get in Malone’s without a reservation, but ended up going upstairs to Harry’s, where walkins are welcome. Totally different vibe but food was just as delicious and service was stellar! Holiday (alcohol/non-alcoholic) drinks did not disappoint-I had a peppermint cocoa. The lobster bisque and lobster roll were almost as good as Maine!!

Visited Harry’s for the first time. We have been to Malones a couple of times and drakes many times. Went with the intentions to use a gift card we had received as a promotion not realizing it had stipulations to be used Sunday – Thursday and the waitress said the won’ t bend the rules so it is what it is ☹️ I will say the burgers we got were really good. Service was decent we did sit for about 10 minutes before we were greeted and asked for the drink order and it was definitely not busy. Other than that it was good. Also have to say when we walked in the door we were completely ignored when trying to ask a question which is not typical of our previous visits to Malones. I do intend on going back in the future

Harry’s Runs on Richard.
• Richard is one of the best servers I’ve ever experienced. He deserves not only a raise but a bonus.
• Because of Richard our group (6 people celebrating birthdays) was phenomenal. The reason we had a fantastic time dining was 100% due to his service.
• Spinach Artichoke Dip (Malones Menu) is pretty good – good for sharing and extra chips are easy to get!
• Ambiance is quite loud and seating is first come first serve. We went on a Wednesday night and waited about 20 minutes for a table at 6:30pm, which means to be typical

It was exactly what one would expect for an upscale chain restaurant.
The service was amazing and I did not feel like the atmosphere was too stuffy or too relaxed. It was just right.

Relaxed but upscale. Lots of conversations but noise level was well controlled and made it easy to hear your dining partner. Caesar salad was awesome as was the Blue Cheese and apple. Our server was attentive but not intrusive.

We dinned here for my birthday! Ivy was awesome. She confirmed what cooking oil was used since I have food allergies. She made tasty recommendations. Ivy was very attentive and provided top notch service and even offered a complimentary dessert. We dined sufficiently and enjoyed the donut bread pudding. Absolutely divinely delicious. Manager checked in on us as well and was very kind. While this was not our first time at Malone’s, it was a first at Harry’s. We will be back!!

Harry’s has become one of my favorite destinations for lunch with friends! The Kale/quinoa and Asian peanut salads are amazing! Service is excellent and the unlimited iced tea refills keep flowing… Also enjoy coming here for happy hour… Super fun vibe with all the windows, with tons of delicious food options – Something for everyone.

First time coming to Harry’s. It was a party of 4 and we had to wait about 15 mins for a table as a walkin. You seat yourself. The food was pretty good. I had the Harry’s Fish n Chips, my husband had the Waygo Kobe burger. They messed up our friends order, my friend’s Waygo Burger came out burnt and too well done, and my other friend ordered the Salmon bowl with noodles but when it came out it was a salad. It’s kind of misleading on the menu. They sent both orders back but management was quick to correct it. The atmosphere and vibes were wonderful we sat upstairs. I don’t recommend the cheesecake because for $9.99 the slice is round and small. The donut bread pudding was good.
