We were looking for coffee driving through the area and loved that this place came up! We weren’t planning on getting food but I’m glad we did. I had a fried egg sandwich and Stephen got a biscuit with gravy, both very tasty! They also had ice cream that we had never tried before… oatmeal cream pie (blue bell) dang… yummy! The most impressive part of our visit was the ladies working, they’re so friendly and helpful and I wish we had anything like this place near us.

Best onion rings I’ve had in a while. Service was great, we had a cheeseburger and a Philly cheese sandwich, and both were delicious. Kinda rustic atmosphere, newspaper clippings from old issues that detail the history of the area, that was really cool.

We were in there yesterday and had to wait to be served while the manager (Guessing that’s who he was) rearranged the ice cream tubs and talked to the server. Apparently he doesn’t know serving customers comes first. We are local, and won’t be back…ever.

This place took me back to eating out Sunday breakfast with my grandfather as a child [I’m 50]. No frills, super nice people, and good food. Greasy spoon, the way it should be. GET OFF THE HIGHWAY AND EAT HERE.

I love this little cafe, the food is really good quality and the vegetables are sourced locally when available. I work in Lexington and on my way home I pass so many restaurants but often I’ll hold off until I get to crab orchard to get my food.
A few years ago I wasn’t crazy about how the owners ran the business ( there was several issues with quality and customer service) but I believe it’s under new management because they are great now.

Absolutely wonderful little diner! Staff is awesome and the food is the best in the state! If your tired of fast food places like McD’s, and yearn for a old fashioned country type restaurant and good home cooking, make a trip to this Cafe! Great food, charming atmosphere. I highly recommend it. 🙂

I had no idea that Crab Orchard had this little Cafe until my friend showed it to me. Much to my surprise it was very good. The establishment was clean, the staff was very nice. They have a daily special. While you wait for food you can play pool or other games in the adjacent rooom. Service was fast for as busy as they was at the time. My only complaint would be that the food had a little more salt and or seasoning, but to each is own as every one has a different palette. Overall if your in Crab Orchard and find yourself hungry this is the place to go! Fast & friendly at the past time cafe!
