One of our favorite local pizza places! Their Margherita square slice is my favorite and the bbq chicken slice is my son’s favorite. They keep adding delicious things to their case like garlic knot chicken parm sandwiches. Their catering is fantastic – so easy to work with and the food is always delicious. We loved the meatballs and chicken Francese – Mel kindly cut it into 1/3s like I asked for a recent party. Highly recommend!

We are traveling and wanted a good sub. Based on the reviews we ordered two subs. The subs were good. The service was not great. We felt like we were bothering the guy taking orders. The guy in the back was working hard. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt because I think the guy at the cash register was new or covering for someone. He did not know the menu and there wasn’t a printed menu. He told us to look it up online. So maybe he was new. As I said the subs were good and we had the leftovers for dinner.

Great pizza in Poughkeepsie. I had the cheese pizza small personal size. Menu says it serves two people but it couldn’t. But too big for one. Very cheesy and saucy and crispy crust. Also had mozzarella sticks which were good but inexplicably served over lettuce.
You can dine in or take out. There were a few tables and a tv showing weather forecast for Arizona. We got our food quickly and staff were friendly. This is a great pizza place. And they have other stuff on the menu too but that’s less fun.

They make a great pizza. My favorite thing about them is they have a dairy free (vegan) cheese which is great for the lactose intolerant. I think the prices are a little high but that’s probably everywhere these days. Plus they’re near an apartment complex without much nearby competition. I haven’t gone to many different places for pizza so it’s hard to compare.

Mel was absolutely amazing. I needed a caterer for a small, casual affair, the food was excellent, super nicely laid out, and my family couldn’t get enough! MEL projected the perfect quantity, and quality of the food. All the food was consumed and everybody left satisfied. We had a variety of Italian food. All the food was a huge hit!

Tonight was the first time ordering from Mel’s and I’m always skeptical about ordering from new places but was pleasantly surprised. Ordered delivery through a different app. Ordered a burger and fries, 6 jumbo mild wings, calzone, mozzarella sticks, canolli and two 20oz sodas. First, the price was great for what we ordered. Easily would have paid over $55 at our pizza place and this came in at $44. The food was great! The burger was thick and juice and tasted like it was fresh off the flame. Fries weren’t soggy. The calzone was cooked through (which is hard to get) and the ricotta, mushrooms and sausage were all good quality. Mozzarella sticks were mozzarella sticks, not burnt or exploded. The wings were the star of the meal! When they say jumbo, you get jumbo! 6 wings was more like 10! I got mild and the flavor was good. Canolli had wonderful flavor and a great shell! Thoroughly impressed with this place and will be ordering again!

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed one of my most visited places to eat. I have been eating at Mel’s before ownership changed and they still maintain great, high, fresh food standards. Their pizza is some of the best around and their specialty pies are always delicious. They pop out a little before lunch and definitely sell out! Their soups are delicious, their subs and wraps are a lunch favorite. Their garlic knots are award worthy, they are perfectly toasted and come with so much garlic on top. I will try to remember to post more pictures of their food, but most of the time we dive right in!

Ordered a regular cheese slice and they are truly an NY size. The Pizza comes out with the perfect soft crisp while still being very thin. The mozzarella used is very fresh and gives of that traditional salty and milky taste. The sauce is definitely one of the better sauces outside of NYC. Sauce has a subtle sweetness that compliments the entire slice. Next I ordered the Margaritta slice and that too turned out to be wonderfully crafted. Perfect ratio of sauce, cheese, and fresh basil. I would definitely recommend this pizza shop to anyone traveling outside the nyc into the Hudson valley area. After, 20+ years of eating pizza all over nyc I can say for sure this is a solid pizza joint.

I asked for Recommendations on Fish and chips and tried Peter Sinapi’s on 376 that got 3 recommendations. The Fish was very fresh Cod, the Guinness batter lite and very tasty. Also had the Minestrone soup and the clams all very tasty. Like the friendly family atmosphere.
