We can’t say our food was bad, just not at all what we expected. Hubby’s $15 cheeseburger was like a kids size. My nachos were a layer of chips sprinkled with the tiny finely shredded cheese covered with another layer of chips then whole beans and what looked like a cut up hamburger patty for the taco meat. None of it was warm.

Unsanitary, bathroom is gross, drinks, side chips on the other side are expired and so were the condiments like mustard. Overly expensive for the portions you get, like the bacon. I do not recommend to anyone.

New Mexican diner faire, some Italian and even middle eastern offerings. French fries are hand cut, fried meats are hand-breaded. Good hummous. One of the absolute best burgers in Hurley/Bayard/Deming/Silver. Simple soups made from scratch. The restaurant is not often busy these days, but the chef and proprietor is also managing the convenient store, motel and storage lot in back. He makes it look effortless to put love into everything he touches, is from an engineering and business background: can carry many conversations and is otherwise quietly serving via unwaivering, exact process. Lurk this act for as long as you would like. Views abound, coffee fresh, interior decor from Matlock.

Stopped in at 2pm on Thursday, during the break between lunch and dinner. Between shifts so the owner was host, waiter, cook, busser, and C-store attendant. An impressive feat, and quite the dining experience. My green chili cheeseburger was very tasty. Fries were fresh and from real potatoes.

Good food! I don’t know why we didn’t try it sooner. I loved the fact the French fries were fresh and homemade and the burgers tasted homemade as well. Kids menu grilled cheese was great and extra cheesy! Looking forward to trying a few other things on the menu.
