Ordered pork lo mein & got this . Theres tiny pieces of what look like chicken, with stringy white onions & a strangely runny but thick sauce with green things. I refuuuuse to eat it

The juice isn’t worth the squeeze. The hot and sour soup was very subpar. That is a dish that keeps similarities through all different forms of Chinese cooking. This was not only lacking common ingredients like mushrooms, sesame oil, soy or black fungus, it also was unbalanced and extremely heavy on vinegar giving it an undesirable taste. The teriyaki was tender but extremely bland to the point of no taste. The boneless spareribs were borderline dry and also lacked flavor. The sauce on the wings had no dominate flavors, it wasn’t garlicky and the wings past the sauce lacked flavor. The pork fried rice was very good. The egg rolls lacked about a third of the filling. They had a hollow point throughout. The lobster sauce had such a strange taste I couldn’t eat it.
Sometimes a dive will have great food. The walls throughout the restaurant had old food stains. Staff was friendly and attentive. I won’t return.

House of Wu in West Warwick is truly a standout when it comes to classic Chinese-American dining, offering a level of consistency, comfort, and flavor that keeps guests coming back year after year. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and an atmosphere that feels familiar and inviting — the kind of place where the staff remembers regulars and where families have been coming for decades.

The food is the real star here. Every dish arrives fresh, hot, and generously portioned, making it one of the best values in the area. The Pu Pu Platter is a must-order and sets the tone perfectly: crispy, golden egg rolls, tender spare ribs, flavorful fried wontons, and all the classic appetizers done exactly the way you want them. Their fried rice and lo mein are consistently excellent, packed with flavor and never greasy. The General Tso’s Chicken balances heat and sweetness beautifully, and their wonton soup is incredibly comforting with its rich broth and hearty wontons.

One of the most impressive things about House of Wu is its reliability. Whether you’re dining in, grabbing takeout, or ordering for a big family night, the quality is always there. The service is friendly and efficient, with staff who genuinely care about giving customers a great experience. You never feel rushed, and you always leave satisfied.

House of Wu isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a staple of the community. It delivers exactly what great comfort food should: bold flavor, steady quality, and a welcoming environment. For anyone in West Warwick or the surrounding towns, this is hands-down one of the best spots for delicious, dependable Chinese cuisine. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I haven’t been here for quite a while after reading such negative reviews. Today I decided to form my own opinion and am glad I did.
The wonton soup has always been my favorite and today it surpassed my expectations.

I wanted chicken with vegetables as a combo and they were happy to fulfill my request. It was delicious. My husband is a chow mein fan and he wasn’t disappointed.

Man… House of Wu… This place is timeless and always consistent. I’ve probably been coming here the better part of three decades. The food has ALWAYS been perfect. They switched cooks recently and the food remains at a high quality. The family running the restaurant makes sure service is efficient and warm. This is. A WONDERFUL place to get Chinese. Don’t sleep on it and definitely share it with your networks. There is no comparison.

My Family and I have been visiting the House of Who for over 20 years, and it was an establishment that through the years has maintained its level of notoriety for their delicious favorable food at an affordable price. The end of an era has finally arrived. Cost has gone up, quality of food has severely decreased, and the new blue paint resembles the feelings in my experience there today. Sad just sad! ALL of the meat was flavorless and dry and we are talking chicken wings to beef teriyaki to the boneless spare ribs, and last but certainly the worst dumplings in the wonton soup. The meat in the dumpling was super dry and rubbery lacking the luster of flavor with ginger and garlic… it was miss all of the flavor! How does wonton soup have dry meat??? I’m very disappointed in what was this hidden gem of a restaurant. I will not be returning.

I grew up in RI (Coventry/West Warwick) and used to eat here a lot. In town for family reasons and craving Chinese food. Sister reminded me of this place. Ordered takeout. Was ready in 10 minutes. Very good food. Ate more than half of beef lo mein and saved rest for late night eating (probably not the healthiest choice, but is so good)

I would highly recommend. You get a lot of food and it’s reasonably priced. Service was pleasant and attentive. Facility was clean. I personally would have liked a little more flavor on the beef teriyaki but it was still delicious and tender. The fried rice and wonton soup were excellent. Absolutely going back again.

Been coming here since the mid to late 80’s. Basically a RI American Chinese landmark. Portions and prices are all quite reasonable given how much material costs have increased in recent years. Great place, especially for the house wings and other appetizers and drinks.
