Gotta say this plaxw truly surprised me. The steak was cooked to perfection and more tender than it had a right to be at this price. The cowboy beans and rice were a perfectly pleasabt choice for sides. My brisket was also very tender and the bark had such a crisp smokey flavor I will be back again for sure. Its hard to find better. The baked potato was soft and well made with real bacon. The house potato salad had flavors that stood out and my wife enjoyed the creamy texture.

Texas Prime BBQ has some solid offerings, but it left me feeling a bit underwhelmed overall.

The service was great—friendly and quick, which definitely made the experience better. I also really enjoyed the spicy sausage, which had a decent kick and was well-seasoned. The cheesecake at the end was pleasant—creamy and flavorful.

That said, the main event—the BBQ meats and sauce—fell short. The flavor just wasn’t there. Both the meat and the sauce were pretty bland, lacking the smoky depth or bold seasoning I expect from Texas BBQ. On top of that, the temperature of the food was a bit off—it just wasn’t hot enough, which took away from the overall experience.

Not a bad spot, but not quite the BBQ standout I was hoping for.

Had the turkey plate with cowboy beans, and Spanish rice. I was skeptical thinking that the turkey breast might be dry, but to my surprise, it has been the best turkey breast I’ve had. It is juicy, and has a mild sweet smoky flavor; put that between two slices of bread and top it off with their bbq sauce(which is also really good), and it made my day. The beans and rice also have great flavor, and good texture—not hard, but also not overcooked to pudding. @memerios1020

Texas Prime BBQ is an absolute gem in small-town Texas! From the moment we walked in, the place was spotless and impeccably organized. The staff made us feel right at home, especially the owner, Rick, who was as welcoming as they come.

The food was out of this world. We started with the stuffed jalapeños—these things are Texas-sized bites of Heaven! Imagine a homemade cream cheese concoction wrapped in perfectly crispy bacon. It’s like a Texas version of a Twinkie, but better!

The brisket was incredibly moist, and the sausage? Juiciest I’ve ever had. The spicy barbecue sauce had just the right kick, complementing everything perfectly. And don’t get me started on the sides—the cowboy-style beans were full of flavor, and the green beans were so juicy and fresh.

A special shoutout to the pit master, David, who took us on a tour of the pit. It was fascinating to see where the magic happens.

We capped off the meal with some homemade banana pudding, and it was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal.

If you’re looking for authentic, family-owned Texas BBQ, you’ve got to check out Texas Prime BBQ. This place is the real deal!

First of all, the brisket here is tender and delicious. Can’t go wrong with the brisket. The potato salad and cowboy beans were good as well. The bbq sauce they have is decent. Price-wise..they’re a bit steep but nothing too overwhelming. Comparable to Bill Miller prices. The atmosphere though is where they struggle. If you plan to eat in, be prepared to sweat because they have no air conditioning. They have fans blowing but they’re circulating air from the outside so you know what that means? Texas heat blowing right in. If you can deal with the heat, then give this place a try.

This past Saturday we had the pleasure of stopping by this gem in Pleasanton TX. My husband and I went for the sausage wraps (didn’t make the pic since we were so hungry) but it was right before closing and the owners were super nice and we ended up with extra to go! The sausage wraps were delish and super moist; chicken was peppery tasty and falling off the bone tender; and the stuffed jalapeños were the perfect heat to offset the the flavorful BBQ sauce!

We ordered a quarter rack of pork ribs for starters cuz we were hungry and they were amazing, fall off the bone good, then had the ribeye steak and T-bone they were delicious! Totally recommend this place if you are on a high protein diet

Just about as bad as you can get! The sauce appeared to be the grease that cooked out of the fat meat. It smelled really good when we walked in, but that was the only thing good. It was expensive and bad food. I would not recommend or return to this place.

We stopped here on our way to the coast. So glad we tried Texas Prime. The brisket was so tender. The spicy smoked sausage was very good too. At first we didn’t get spice but then on the back we did. Very delicious. I’m not a fan of potato salad but Texas Prime’s was creamy and seasoned well.
