I’ve been going to Stadium Pizza in Jersey City since I was in grammar school with my mom. We fell off for a few years but recently went back, and it’s just as memorable as ever. They might have one of the best regular cheese slices in the whole county. The fries are always a hit, and some of the same staff are still there, including the sweet lady at the counter. That says a lot right there.
Tried the broccoli bites for the first time and they were surprisingly tasty. Inside, not much has changed. Still clean, still comfortable, with plenty of self-seating and even some nicer tables in the back if you want a more sit-down feel. Bonus points for plenty of parking.
It’s nice to see a local spot stay true to what made it great.
Always with great and friendly service. It gets pretty busy during lunch and dinner hours so call ahead for your pie
The interior is quite nostalgic of the old New York Style pizzeria the only thing missing in the plaza is a Blockbuster Video next door!
I ordered the sausage pizza and wings, and let me tell you—my taste buds had a spiritual moment. The wings were lightly breaded (bless them for understanding texture) and the blue cheese dressing was shockingly excellent. Not the sad watery dip you mentally forgive because “it came with the meal.” No. This was blue cheese that actually respected itself.
The pizza? Fresh. Flavorful. The kind that makes you question why you ever tolerated frozen pizza in your freezer at all. The crust had that perfect balance of chew and crisp—no flop, no cardboard. Just… correct.
Then there’s Joe. A gentleman. A storyteller. The kind of owner who can talk about his business with actual pride instead of corporate scripted lines. The staff was warm, friendly, and busy in that “we’re good at what we do” way—not rushed, not chaotic, just flowing like a well-rehearsed kitchen symphony.
Prices are fair, people are happy, food is great, and the atmosphere has heart. Joe’s isn’t trying to be trendy—because it doesn’t have to be. It’s already classic.
10/10. I will be returning, possibly too often.
Pros: Not oily or greasy
Cons: Very very thin crust.
Not enough sauce. Average taste. I give it 6.8 on 10
