One of my personal favorites is the campechano. It’s packed with flavor and always cooked perfectly. If you like margaritas, they also make some really good ones, and they’re priced well compared to a lot of other places. It’s easy to sit down, relax, and enjoy a great meal without feeling like you’re overpaying.
The atmosphere is another big plus. The restaurant has a fun, welcoming vibe, and it’s always a good place to hang out for a meal. The service has always been solid for us too — friendly, attentive, and quick to get everything you need.
The location is also easy to get to, which makes it a convenient choice when you’re deciding where to eat.
We’ve brought plenty of friends here over the years, especially when people are visiting from out of town, and it’s always been a hit. Honestly, it would be hard to say enough good things about this place. Great food, great drinks, and a place we’ll keep coming back to.
I ordered 3 tacos: chorizo, adobada, and al pastor. Of these 3 only the chorizo taco was good. The adobada was so salty it was not edible, and it had no flavor. The al pastor was bland and missing the pineapple they used to serve it with. Served with the tacos is usually the orange and green salsas, only the green salsa was given to us. The chips and salsa were definitely different, the salsa tasted as if it was from a jar and the chips were of lower quality (think Tostidos). They have also started charging for chips, no more unlimited refills. Each order of chips after the first basket, is about $2.50. I would think ordering queso that would at least get us another basket of chips but that was not the case.
Overall, I was wholly disappointed with the food here and will unfortunately not be coming back. I get that times are tough but to skimp on the quality of food as well as increase the prices, is a slap in the face to the regulars. There are already plenty of restaurants in the area that serve sub-par Mexican food for high prices, Chicken and Taco Loco used to set themselves apart, but they have decided to join everyone else.
The bar has multiple beers on tap, a nice selection of unique tequila, as well as some whiskey. They even offer BOGO on Sangria (which is very good) and their beer.
The chips are plenty, and the lightly smokey salsa is great. We ordered the three street tacos, ground beef, choripollo, carnitas, and the chicken fajitas salad. I liked the beef and churripolo. Carnitas, in my opinion, could be slightly better, but we’re still tasty. The salad was fresh and chicken spiced well.
The staff was kind and timely. Overall a very good experience with a lot of very interesting art.
