Initially, when I walked in, I thought I was in the wrong place. I did not notice the restaurant hidden behind the store’s aisles.
When I walked into the restaurant area, I felt like I was back at 1979. The restaurant is clean but it’s dated.
I ordered a lot. You know the drill. I ordered the chile verde Mexican breakfast. With eggs over medium. And I ate this at the restaurant. I also ordered a breakfast burrito to go. And 3 carne asada tacos to go.
My chili verde plate came up first. It looked delicious and I was hungry. So I didn’t waste any time. It tasted delicious. The texture of the pork threw me off tho. It almost had the look of ground pork. There were large chunks of of it, and it did not have the mouthfeel of ground pork. Not bad, just different. The beans were good and the mexican rice was some of the best I’ve had at a mexican restaurant.
I was halfway through with my meal before I noticed that I didn’t get my eggs. I wasn’t about to ask for them. I would have been finished with my meal by the time they arrive.
I did let the waitress know when she brought my check to the table. So she took ten percent off. But i’m guessing that ten percent was just for the chile verde plate. Not my entire order.
I went back to my truck and took photos of the tacos and burrito before I fell into a food coma.
I woke up five hours later and went in on the tacos. I didn’t realize they would also come with beans and rice. I got one container of red salsa. And one container of green salsa. Everything tasted very good.
I ate the breakfast burrito the next morning. It was also very good, but I didn’t have enough salsa left over from the tacos.
All in all the food was very good. The employees were friendly. My total after 18% tip was $67. So it’s not exactly cheap. But it is worth a try.

They have the best kebabs in the area. Despite it being a truck stop, my family and I love to eat here. The staff are attentive and friendly. And the food is freshly made. Don’t usually have to wait to be seated. The kids love shopping at the adjoining convenient store.

I’m not from Cali, but I come here often. Guys, if you’re hungry for a trucker’s meal, you have to come and eat the biggest and tastiest burrito! And I don’t get paid for this! I really recommend it!

Just an Opinion
Coming from food business I expect food to be at least close to the authentic food.
Today on May 11, 2023 ( Thursday) I ordered Chicken kabob deal. While ordering I had told the attendant that I am food critic and hoping to see it in a way it supposed to be. She mentioned that it comes the way the picture shows on the web.

After receiving food I asked if the turnips’ pickle was included. The attendant said “no”,. I was ok with that but after I opened my (to go) bag; I found out that there was no hummus or any garnishing .

The Mediterranean food supposed to have pickle and hummus with it to complete it.

This was a bad experience after spending $12.92 for a meal. I called the restaurant thinking they might have forgotten the Hummus and come to find out that THEY DON’T HAVE A CHEF ANY MORE AND OWNER COOKS THE FOOD and CHARGES THE SAME PRICE FOR HALF TASTY FOOD.

This is crazy . Full price Full portion of food must be served.
Taste of the food is perfect but it’s missing the combining ingredients.

I’m not going back to this place for sure.
End of my excitement.

I ordered a Carne Guisada Burrito, it had plenty of fillings they do not skimp you out. The burrito had carne guisada, rice, beans, cilantro and raw onions. The meat was tender with good flavor and there were plenty of rice and beans to complement the meat. The tortilla itself is a mass produced tortilla but I’m sure that’s how they all come and nothing to brag about. If you do not like raw onion tell them to skip those because the onions are raw. They give you a choice of red or green salsa to go with your burrito. The red salsa itself is just ok not much flavor or spice and very watery almost as if to make more servings of it. Overall it’s a truck stop restaurant that can break the monotony of fast food.

It’s a run down place that cost $25 for truck and trailer. BUT… Eat at the restaurant don’t order to much like I did the food is freaking great. Feels like a blast from the past from times better. Or you could stay at the crap chain store near where parking is tight and no restaurant.

Everything was good. Strange that all breakfast meat was turkey. No pork available.
