We pride ourselves on our dedication to provide quality pizza with fresh ingredients at a reasonable cost. Local vegetables, stone ovens, and our signature pepperoni are all ingredients in our recipe for success! But the one thing that really sets us apart from other shops is the dough, handmade daily by none other than the shop founder himself, Abe Gild! 55 years later, we have a new home in Kent, but not much else has changed. We serve the greater Kent area, and many of our customers from the old neighborhood in Akron keep coming, too! Our mission is to bake the best pizza in the area. Call and order yours today!

Great Pizza! My father introduced me to this place when it was in Akron. This place was treat when I was a kid in the 80’s. Does my heart good to see that it is still thriving and most importantly still making amazing pizza! New owner is a really cool guy that kept the nostalgia of the old place alive with several artifacts from the original shop! 10/10 definitely worth the trip to Kent!!

First time trying this place out, saw a picture of their sausage and pepperoni pizza online and really wanted to try it out. Not sure if the guy there was having an off day or not but the pizza was absolutely disgusting. It wasn’t cooked all the way and the cheese smelled rancid. It almost smelled like a sweaty person which immediately threw off my appetite. It was the only pizza in my lifetime that I threw darn near the whole thing away. The chicken and jojos were decent and cooked well. They had a nice crisp. Burger was decent as well. I’m sure this place isn’t bad but I’d steer clear of the pizza after this. The guy working there was very pleasant and kind, and the shop had a nice old hole in the wall type of feel to it. Personally I probably won’t be back as I drove from Akron to try this place out, but I do wish the owners the best. Please cook the pizzas all the way and check on that cheese!

I have known A Gild pizza all my life! And when I learned my high school friend acquired the pizza shop and incorporated his DZZ BBQ I couldn’t wait to get back to Ohio! Well, tonight was an amazing night with family at A Gilds pizza and we sat reminiscing with Del since we were only a year apart at Garfield! Man what a great evening!
The pizza was exactly how I remember it and let me tell you living in Kansas City home of bbq, they ain’t got nothing on what DZZ bbq brings!! Woohoo that was theee best ribs I’ve ever had!!

Hands down, best pizza I’ve had since a favorite place closed as a child. The cheese is incredible, the chew is perfect and the size is huge!! Dont even pause – order and you’ll thank me! Also the owner was very gracious to me when the order was messed up.
