Hands down the best Poncheros in the Des Moines area! The burritos are always huge, fresh, and super filling. The staff is friendly, the ingredients taste great, and the quality is always consistent. Definitely my go-to spot when I’m craving a burrito!

There is not a single other Pancheros location that even closely compares to the joy that I experience from this specific location. Excellent food, excellent service, a camaraderie that is unmatched – not just in Pancheros locations, but in do-it-yourself burrito restaurants in general. I always get a burrito with rice, black beans, carnitas, and mild ancho salsa with a side of chips and salsa. You can’t get this excellency from a Chipotle or a Q-Doba. Love Pancheros. Specifically this Pancheros. Respectfully, other central Iowa locations don’t compare to the quality, service, and speed of the West Des Moines Pancheros. Hands down the cleanest, and best Pancheros we have ever visited. They always have a clean food prep area that is full stocked and prepared. This location is a great example of how to keep customers returning! We will drive past another Pancheros in Waukee to the West Des Moines location because it is that much better!

I’m from CO, where Chipotle is from, and I love Chipotle! Driving through IA, I thought I’d try Pancheros for the first time. I ordered a chicken burrito. I was blown away how each tortilla was made to order pressed and grilled right in front of you. But then, at the end of the line, they mix your burrito with a spatula. My burrito was tasty delicious. the chips and queso to top it off was nothing short of spectacular! Better than Chipotles queso! Overall, to come pare them. I’d say they are same same but different in their own way but still same! Everytime go to the Midwest this will be my go to for quick mexican food !

This is hands down the best location i’ve ever been to. They know how to run a Pancheros. Compare this location to the Ingersoll or Altoona location and you’ll see what i mean. Night and day difference.

Always reliable. Fast, efficient service, clean. This Pancheros is consistently better than the other Iowa franchises and those that are similar. As a chain, their extras are easy to accidentally pay extra for and they are expensive for what you get (guacamole, very small queso). Sometimes you feel rushed or pressured to not get the salsa varieties and quantities you’d like.
I love that they leave their hot sauce sits out for me to decide how much I want. Main entree is always nice-sized. The inside vibe is clean but nothing else. Overall great place to get things to go.
