The woman I spoke to, told me I was mad at the wrong person for her restaurant taking 5$ off my card and not putting it onto my gift card from the Valentines day package.
I spent 500$ I can absolutely have an attitude if I want. Don’t tell me I’m wrong when I have transactions to prove otherwise.
Thank GOD for THE WATER FRONT HOTEL STAFF NAMED CRYSTAL!!! Working this morning on Valentines day. She was amazing and accommodating and knows how to deal with a frustrated customer! She immediately made everything right and I truly appreciate her.
Shout out to the hotel and not the restaurant!

We visited Mainstay Social in October 2024 and loved it. The meals were delicious, and the atmosphere comfortable and enjoyable. We met Chef Dan, who surprised us with delicious dishes not on the menu. This became our favorite spot for dinner last year. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Salem, and we will be visiting again this year when we visit. Thank you for the wonderful dining experience. It exceeded our expectations. Thank you!

This restaurant is by far one of the best and most underrated places in Salem. We have come here 3 years in a row and each time the food/drinks/service have been outstanding. The food is consistently good and we have had several items off the menu, the drinks are mixed perfectly and the service from everyone is exemplary. We had the pleasure of having Sal and Brooke this trip and they were both very attentive, informative, friendly, and honestly just amazing. The food and drinks are truly unrivaled in town. My husband says the fish and chips are some of the best he has ever had and the fish tacos I had were some of the best I have ever had.
If you need a meal modified (which I have had to do) they will be happy to work with you in any way they are able to.
The patio is the perfect place to enjoy your meal and drinks and have a great time with those you are with. It is surprisingly very quiet and very relaxing, especially in the evenings and taking in the sunset.
Mainstay Social is a go to place here in Salem whether you are just visiting from out of town or you are a local. This place is a must and you will not be disappointed.

While staying at the Salem Waterfront Hotel, we decided to have dinner and drinks with our family. While the reviews were good, we set our expectations low for a restaurant attached to a hotel – and we were very pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic and the drinks creative and refreshing. Service was top notch and we enjoyed sitting out on the patio.
Highly recommend the steak tips (and I rarely eat steak) and the Mac n cheese!

Smaller restaurant/bar. I just had a glass of wine and Mac n cheese. The wine was good; the Mac n cheese was middling. Very salty, little flavor. I would revamp that dish.

Terrible service. Tried to have breakfast here at 9:45 AM. Restaurant was only 60% occupied. Patiently waited to be addressed as we stood at the front entrance for 10 minutes. Waitress walked by us numerous times and never addressed us. Finally we walked to a table that was just cleared off. Waited for 10 minutes at the table while the waitress never even offered us a coffee. Don’t recommend!

Decided to stay in and get room service. Ordered the grilled steak tips. They were melt in your mouth good. The mashed potatoes were perfect. I never had such delicious room service.
