Rustica is a cute cafe with lovely bakery products. I truly enjoyed my cafe latte, focaccia with eggs and salad. The scone and the banana bread were superb too. However, we had to wait for about 10 minutes in the queue with the counter person talking/helping the person in front of us. There was no apology for the wait too, so if you are looking for good customer service, this may not be a preferred cafe.

Super cute establishment, sorta feels like you’re in a European cafe! I ordered a small vanilla latte and the lox & bagel to go. The cashier was not friendly & very short with me as I ordered & asked a question or two. I did not appreciate that. The latte was pretty good & I’d get it again. The lox&bagel to go was a bad choice. They came in a cardboard box, completely unassembled & with no silverware set… the bagel itself looked beautiful at first but turned out to be dry & chewy. It was far from “to go” friendly & I unfortunately was not able to eat. Thus I don’t recommend getting items to go here. Overall it was just fine, but absolutely not worth $28 for two items… I’m sure they will figure it out soon if they want to keep up with grocers table.

Had my first visit to Rustica this morning; not sure what the buzz is all about. I bought six items; the first two we tried were not good. The Monkey Bread was over baked and stingy on the caramel. The Coffee Cake was over baked on the edge and under done in the center. Think I’ll go back to Honey & Rye.

Super cute little shop and I’m so glad that they opened up one in Wayzata! The pastries are glorious, and I love the lattes.
They were out of gift cards, so that was a bummer but I guess I’ll just have to go back!

Rustica Bakery & Cafe has moved into a location that desperately needed a reputable owner. The previous tenants, Eric and Olga Shogren, destroyed the Wuollet, Han’s, Grandma’s, and Emily’s brands, leaving a trail of destruction in four counties.

It is a relief to see a high-quality, ethical bakery like Rustica in this space. They are the complete opposite, offering exceptional pastries, friendly service, and competitive pricing. I’ve tried their scone, coffee cake, and a perfect chocolate croissant on my second visit today and everything has been superb. It’s wonderful to have a bakery I can trust and feel good about supporting.

Had a Brevé and it was absolutely perfect. The pastries behind the counter looked tasty too. Bustling with people – even at 11 am – but that should be expected with a good coffee shop in a busy location! Hopefully they will be able to expand their digs a bit and still keep the feel – and the coffee! They have tables and booths and a long table with bar-style seating for laptops, complete with power outlets. I snagged a seat at the latter and got some quality work done along with some quality coffee. Perfect!

I have been waiting for a third wave coffee shop to come into wayzata. This place is it. They have pour over, which in the coffee world separates the good from the best coffee shops in my opinion. Not to mention the killer bakery items available. I have been waiting for a coffee shop that has good espresso too to come out here. The bathroom and everything was very clean and kept up. It’s became a regular spot now for me! Highly recommend the pour over coffee! This is what wayzata downtown needed.

Cozy new bakery and lunch spot in downtown Wayzata. I met a friend for lunch here today and everything was great. It’s a small and busy place so we ended up sharing the largest table with a group of 3 women who were so gracious to let us sit with them. It still felt private as we had our separate conversations. The quiche and salad were very good. I’m so glad Wayzata has a new casual option and will definitely be back for lunch, coffee, and dessert often.

Forget the rest of the bakeries in this part of the metro, Rustica is finally here to fill a gap left since the original Bellecour closed in the pandemic. There are no other worthy bakery and coffee options in Wayzata. Go in, check it out. Try the chocolate-flavored good, try the savory goods, get the coffee. Ignore the rest. The only complaint is the space is not as big as it will probably need to be.
