New Owners – This is everything bagel. Had no taste. I’m better off going up the block on route 109. 2nd time I tried with new owners. I guess this is why they don’t display their bagels for customers can see.

My Family & I had been going to G & L since they first opened here in Farmingdale. When the new owners came on board, I tried to give them a chance. However, the service, food, everything… dropped from a 10 to a 1 immediately (If I could rate a zero I would). The business was bagels & community and when the new owners took over they pretty much hid the bagels so you can’t see them. They also are extremely disrespectful to the customers and employees. I watched as loyal customers who would order from a simple breakfast to ordering in BULK for huge events would come in to put an order in & were disrespected and ignored. As far as the decor, The space has always been small, so having a mirrored wall & warm colors made the space feel twice as big and welcoming. Having the bagels upfront in the display made it joyful for little kids to be able to see what they were ordering when the went up to the counter. NOW, the new owners covered the mirror and have the bagels where you can’t reach them or see them (as a customer) & using DARK furniture made the space feel like a small box for a hamster. When I voiced my opinion (as a loyal customer of the former G&L Bagels) about how I felt the decor & service was not helping them, I was told, “If i don’t like it, I can leave.” I haven’t been back there since. This was a few of months ago, shortly after ownership was turned over. Side note, I did recently find out that a lot of the Meats (Non-Deli) are being pre-made a few days prior and put in the fridge for IDK how long & just having them sit. So… Yeah. Not a good thing.

I tried a toasted bagel with veggie cream cheese — absolutely delicious! The bagel was perfectly toasted on the outside and soft on the inside, and the vegetable cream cheese was fresh, flavorful, and generously spread. The family-owned staff was friendly, and the shop had a nice, cozy atmosphere. Definitely a place for a great, affordable breakfast!

A regular bagel spot with regular bagels, I mean this in the best way. Fresh bagels and amazing customer service. Small tv to watch the news on and a seating area for a few people. Plenty of parking available. Check it out!

Solid 5 star bagel shop. They hand roll the bagels in house. It’s a family run business that’s been there over 40 year (well at least that’s what their t-shirts say). Their superior bagels are the reason they’ve been there so long. YUMMY.

I wanted to see how many bagels I could fit on my face. Unfortunately, they are good at stopping bagel theft, but I’m persistent. Currently I have stolen 0 bagels, but I did snag one of their chairs, so currently I can fit one whole chair on my face, and I’m calling that a win.

If you want well done bacon don’t go here. Asked for burnt bacon and reiterated not to be scared to char the bacon. It was still fatty and chewy and nowhere close to being well done. Hate when a Deli can repeat your order and still can’t follow the instructions. Wasn’t even busy

Haven’t had a BEC in a while. I work from home, I wasn’t having a great start of the week. Decided to treat myself to some deli food for breakfast. After eating my first half of the sandwich I felt shorted. I open the 2nd half of my sandwich and was shocked. I attached a photo, this is what they gave me!! 2 small pieces of bacon. This is so messed up. Can’t trust anyone any more. Will I have to check my sandwiches before I leave now? I think not. You lost a customer.
