I’m a very basic person when it comes to Asian food (I didn’t eat sushi or spicy foods). But today I was craving some chicken fried rice. The location was close to my doctor’s office and it has great ratings, so I popped in to try it.
The service was excellent. Nick was very nice, fast, and friendly. I was the only person in the restaurant for lunch, which surprised me.
The restaurant was very clean, nice look, perky music.
Everything tasted great. I love chicken fried rice, so the meal certainly hit the spot. The chicken was a little bit dry, but not much.
Next time I’m over on this side of town I’d stop by again.

This restaurant is quite literally amazing! My husband and I saw it while driving around the Hoover area and decided to try it and we were so glad we did! There’s a reason why so many reviews say it’s their go to place in Hoover for sushi. I had the bento box with salmon and it was to die for! We also had an appetizer with spring rolls, which I’m normally not fond of, but theirs are delicious! Would 100% recommend!

Tonight we took a chance and went to Unagi Bento and Sushi after having seen them on Fox 6.
Y’all, if you haven’t been to Unagi Bento and Sushi, you should! Super low key, the owner, Ida, is absolutely the nicest and the food-whew- the food is pretty phenomenal! The staff is super nice too. This is for sure going to be a repeat place! #mynewfavorite #unagibentoandsushi #willbebacksoon
Thank you Ida for a really nice dinner for our date night. We will be back for sure!
Sincerely, Dwayne and Kim!

Yum! Long work day + gigging BF = dinner out for myself! Unagi did not disappoint! Crab Angels were crunchy, sweet, & tangy sauce was the perfect compliment! The complimentary soup was great & not too salty! I had the Explosion and Skipping Unagi rolls. Delightful & had to stop myself from eating them ALL! Took home 6 pieces of sushi & 2 Crab Angels. Will likely be my midnight snack! I was shocked when I walked it that this place wasn’t packed on a Saturday night. But, while I was there, lots of people came in for takeout. Service was excellent. Will be back to try some more at a later date!

I was introduced to this place 2 weeks ago and I have visited 5 times since then!!! Best sushi I’ve had in a long time! I’m a fan of the Racetrack Sushi! It’s safe to say my daughter and I, including my coworkers are now addicted! Great customer service as well! BTW, don’t forget the Eel sauce and crab angels!!!!

We had take out and it was great. The sushi was very flavorful and fresh. Chicken fried rice was great. The Crab Angels were some of the best I have ever had. Sweeter than I am used to, but they were delicious. Portions were all quite large for the price. The service was fast and friendly when we called and when I picked it up. Overall, a really great experience.

I started ordering from the menu and stopped and ask Ram, my server if there was a lunch menu. He said yes and gave it to me. When I got my sushi, I got the 1st order from the regular menu—after I had put it down and started ordering from the lunch menu, AND sushi from the LUNCH MENU. You can’t tell me any server is that dense. I ordered the child meal for my granddaughter and asked for the steak to be on the side. It tasted horrible. Actually, it had no taste except OLD. I ordered the salmon bento to go for my daughter. That is the picture on the left below. The owner asked how we wanted it cooked and I said, “Not burned”. It can me already boxed. As you can see on left, the rice is brown and old and the two slivers of salmon are dried up burned. This was $14.00. Sixty-two dollars later we are praying we don’t get food poisoning. The rice on the right was the rice served in the restaurant which was actually fresh. Don’t know how they have a 4.7 rating when we and two other people were the only ones there at noon after church.

My husband and I went to this place when they opened for dinner service at 4:30 PM. This place was very nice and clean and we were greeted immediately when we walked in. We asked for “to go” service and we were directed to the bar area. We placed our order with a very friendly staff person and my husband drank a glass of wine while we waited for our food. We received our food fairly quickly since we and one other couple were the only customers in the restaurant at this time. When we got home, we unpacked our food and prepared to sit down to eat it. I ordered a bento box with teriyaki chicken and an appetizer of tempura vegetables. I was greatly disappointed in the food. The chicken was very dry and the sauce was not very tasty. The tempura was not crunchy at all and the vegetables did not appear to taste fresh. The soup had hardly any vegetables or tofu or anything of substance. Once I added some more vegetables to the soup, it tasted better. Also, the serving size was not what I expected especially given the cost of a Bento Box.The cost was $12.00 and the food was very limited. The salad was decent, but the dressing was very watery. My husband ordered the Calamari and he said it was not very crunchy. His Shrimp Yakisoba was just ok but not as flavorful as he is used to receiving. And his order costs $11.00 and $16.00 respectively. My husband did enjoy his wine though. Needless to say, we will try other places for Japanese food.

We tried Unagi for the first time by ordering takeout through Google this past weekend! So good! The Happy Roll was my favorite. Super friendly staff, order was ready on time and everything tasted amazing. Would definitely recommend!
