I previously ate here before, food was 10/10. I chose delivery this time, I will say that my delivery driver took a bit longer, so next time I will not order okra for delivery. It was soft and mushy and cold by the time it arrived. I also feel as if the funnel bites should be sprinkled prior to sending them out for delivery. But I still recommend Alli’s cafe.

I wish that I was able to leave zero stars. This had became my favorite place to eat. For the past month we had ate there during lunch 2-3 times per week. Never an issue until today. 4 out of 4 orders were incorrect and missing items. When I approached the waitress to obtain missing sides and advise that our orders were incorrect she began screaming at the top of her lungs for the entire restaurant to hear and start staring . I have never been so humiliated and embarrassed in my entire life. I have owned and operated 3 businesses at one time during my lifetime and an employee would never get away with treating a customer this way and the manager would have also been fired for poor customer service. The manager took the waitress back to the kitchen where she continued to scream and holler inappropriately. Then the manager came back out and asked what the issue was, I advised our orders were incorrect and had missing items. She appeared to be writing it all down. Needless to say orders were never corrected. Price was not discounted. Never so much as received an apology for such blatant lack of customer service. Then when the manager brought my ticket back to the table she slung it down and walked off with still no apology for what had happened, missing items or corrected order. I have contacted human resources to file a formal complaint. I desperately attempted to support this business for all the good that they do for and with individuals however I will never go back.

Mediocre food at best. The food tasted like heat lamp stored food I was served in high school. We had the same waitress each time we came, and each time she had a less than inviting attitude when taking orders, and never once came to check on us on each of those visits. Let’s talk more about today’s visit. We come in for lunch, order the daily special with sides and drinks, and wait 35 minutes for it to be brought out. Once it comes out, my sides were wrong. I ordered hush puppies and fries, and I received green beans and hush puppies. I shrugged it off. Another person with my party ordered okra and green beans, she received the green beans and didn’t even get a second side much less her okra. She went up to our waitress who was behind the counter, and explained that our sides were wrong/missing. This woman flipped out. Started screaming in front of a packed dining hall that the sides were all the same price and that there was no mistake and that she fixed them up herself. Mind you the ticket her tablet produced contradicted her statement. Then started coming at our friend who was trying to get our sides fixed that “she was coming at her the wrong way” and continued to scream in front of guests and into the kitchen for upwards of 5 minutes. An apology was never shared, our sides were never fixed, and not only did our dine-in orders have the wrong side, but the food we picked up for our friend also had the wrong sides. The friend that was screamed at by the waitress called the business to submit a formal complaint on this experience, and was met with a man on the phone named Will. Will stated that we were banned from the establishment, and then went on to boast threats towards our friend and her job. Highly unprofessional. Can not and would not recommend.

The food is awesome. Home cooked meals and made to order menu food. Their prices are very cheap for the quality of food they serve. Everyone is nice and friendly. My favorite home style food restaurant ever. Everyday they have lunch specials that consist of 2 choices and comes with a tea for 9.99.

You HAVE to try this “Special” Cafe at least once, because you’re gonna get great food, no matter what you order and you’re gonna get a special kind of service that benefits a very good community. They offer two specials each day, a home-cooked meal or a sandwich style basket. The portions are generous and delicious. The place is clean and spacious. The price is absolutely unbelievably very affordable and for me it beats any restaurant in Shelby if you want good simple delicious
homemade meals made by a great cook/ chef, seek out ALLI’s Cafe. I’m definitely going back along with my husband who is very picky and he loved his too. I will be adding more photos as time goes on.

I stopped by for a Bacon, Egg and Cheese biscuit and black coffee. Look at this thing! It’s beautiful and chocked full of yumminess. The coffee was fresh and delicious! I’ll definitely be back!

First time here. Got one of the two specials advertised. I choose the fried chicken, okra, slaw, pinto beans and cornbread. Food was really good, staff was very nice and friendly. Will go back again. Another visit here and had breakfast. Nothing changed, still good food, warm atmosphere, friendly staff.

For a place that has been in business for a couple of years, they really need to work extra on their advertising. We wouldn’t have noticed this place unless we were actually looking for a place to eat. It was easy to miss. Even when we finally got there, it felt a bit awkward because we weren’t sure if it was open because there was barely any decoration and the place was so very quiet on the outside. It gave off that feeling like you were walking inside an empty dance hall. We were greeted by staff and she was nice and attentive. There was a big screen TV. The patrons who came in were few and looked like regulars from their interaction with the staff. The meals were BYO (Build-Your-Own) and were mostly standard breakfast fare. I had pancakes and cheesy omelet. The food was good, neat, and tasted very homemade, and super affordable. However, laterer in the day, I could not quite get the smell of cheesy egg off me and for some reason my belly would not stop cramping all throughout the end of the day. It must be an isolated incident since my companion didn’t get any negative reaction from the food at all. I’m not quite sure if I want to return because I’ve never had this reaction from any diner I’ve been especially breakfast food. This was shocking for me. Still, I do wish them well and that they have success in their business because they seem like nice folks.
