This is one of the best Indian buffets we have ever been to. They’re selection is great taste very authentic. You know it’s good when their own people come eat here.

Went for the lunch buffet at Pooja! What a great name. Was greeted by a nice lady with a scowl and no smile. Ambiance is classically old, dirty, and tired. In much need of a facelift and a good cleaning. 40-year old faded decor was a bright spot. Food was pretty good. Butter chicken and saag paneer were tops. Same scowling lady on the way out. Forgot to get the soft serve and probably won’t be back. Could use some music or Indian soap operas on the TV there. Always room for improvement!

Arrived 11:40am on a Tuesday. Food was full and hot. Restaurant had plenty of space. Filled up a little bit by the time I left. Goat curry and chicken curry was excellent, a long with everything else! Mango ice cream was good and also had chai tea (unsweetened) at the buffet. $18 for lunch buffet!

The food at Pooja Indian Grill was decent, but it could be a little better in terms of flavor and freshness. The service was okay, though it could have been more attentive. The atmosphere was nice but could be improved for a more welcoming feel. Overall, a decent experience with some room for improvement

The naan bread was great. most of the food was good. But the place is run down. The table we sat at was VERY unstable and rocking, we could not lean on it while we were waiting for take out. The top was severely cracked and a huge sharp shard of plastic was sticking out. See picture. The second picture is the front register where the hostess is. Part of it is coming apart as you can see, and the dark part on the top is actually filth! I ran my fingernail through it hoping it was something else. How much effort would it take to just run a rag over the hostess station? Or spend 15 minutes repairing it? Other elements of the restaurant looked over-the-top elegant but mixed with the atmosphere of a neglected storage unit. If this is all the care they put into the room that presents itself to customers, it leaves me wondering just how clean is the kitchen? I don’t want to find out. Cleanliness of a restaurant to me is #1. That enough prevents me from ever going back. But to add to that, we were the only ones there but the food took a little bit longer than we thought. Most of the staff seemed tired and uninterested. One girl was friendly.

I think most people probably come for their buffet which is quite good and has a good variety of items. All the items I had were tasty. Tea was included in the buffet and I was pleasantly surprised. The mango ice soft serve looked good but lacked any mango flavor. Would go back.

SO. GOOD. Wow!! After just one visit, this is now one of my favorite Indian food places (and I’ve been to a solid amount).
We ordered and shared the Maharaja feast – I loved the variety of it, and every single thing included was so delicious. Very much worth it. Also got the chicken tikka masala, which was my favorite. We ordered it spicy and they really delivered on that. It was close-your-eyes-and-thank-the-heavens good. Highly highly recommend! Got to try the chicken biryani too and that was also good. I already wanna go back and try the other things on the menu.
Overall, this place is awesome! Good food, great service, nice decor. What more could I ask for. Do yourself a favor and check them out!

We had the worst time visiting this place on our way to Tahoe from San Jose. Wish we had picked another place. We landed at 6:30 pm and it took them 30 min to bring tea (not recommended). 1 hr and numerous questions later they got our appetizers and 45 min later we got the main course to go! Wish we had checked the food there, coz they forgot to give us the rice, gave us burnt biryani (not even kidding, check pictures) and tasteless chicken and paneer gravies. It was terrible when we dined in there and worse when we had the to go order 2 hrs later in Tahoe. They didn’t have the courtesy to inform us that they were short staffed and should expect to wait longer. They shouldn’t have taken orders beyond a certain number. Wish we were refused entry and we had gone to a better place instead. Took our parents to the place, and were thoroughly disappointed.

One of the best local Indian restaurants. It is very nice inside and well decorated. They have nice tables and chairs and can sit many people. I always feel welcomed inside when I am greeted. They offer an affordable buffet during lunch. They have a good variety of food during the buffet. They have two types of rice, many vegetarian options, and about four meat dishes. All of them taste well made. They also give you sides of Naan bread as you eat. It is absolutely delicious! If you are looking for a local, delicious Indian food, Pooja Indian Grill is the place. Last, they have a delicious Manga flavored ice cream to top it all off at the end! A must get! I highly recommend this place to anyone open to Indian food.
