Fresh salmon is alright. It is what it is with basically poke quality salmon. Light and refreshing.
Popping salmon has like sort of a buldak/rameny flavor for the marinade which I didn’t like but my partner liked. Not too spicy.
Grilled spicy pork is fairly typical dwaegi gogi, which i like so i’m a little biased. i thought it was good with the yubu. Plenty of pork marinade seeping through the rice. Not very spicy.
Fluffy egg did not have as much roe as the picture lead me to believe but it was good. It also had a few salmon roe for some reason but I liked it. Nice and savory. Egg was wet-ish and soft. nice.
Prices are fairly reasonable. I’d say 3-4 would be a pretty filling meal for the average person. about $5-7 each yubu after tax. I’ve never seen a yubu restaurant before. Vibes are kind of grab and go but they have a decent amount of seating for like groups of 4-5 maybe (like 3-4 tables)
Pretty okay neat looking modern place on the inside. I might try again if I was craving something in particular. I wanted to try the Garlic Butter Crab that other reviews were talking about.
Tried the specials, one with truffle oil. It looked small but I was actually full afterwards (lunch) from eating 2.5.
Overall, 5* for the items that we ordered. Complimentary condiments.
Each bite was a burst of deliciousness, with the balance of flavors truly standing out. The quality of the fish was top-notch, and I loved how the garlic butter crab added a rich, savory depth to the dish. The atmosphere was also cozy and inviting, making it a great place for a casual yet elevated meal.
If you’re a fan of creative Asian fusion or looking to try something new, I highly recommend checking out Atoyubu. I’m already planning my next visit!
Seriously come and give this a try! We had the bulgoggi, spicy pork, eel, tuna and ginger, spicy tuna, bbq gyro for the kids.
Amazing. Can’t wait to go back! Bear in mind it’s a tiny strip mall, 4 shops, so parking is extremely limited. We got there at the right time just before lunch “started” at 11:30. If you can do takeout, it’d probably be better in the long run with the limited parking. Online order thru Toast, preferably. There is seating inside enough for I think 30 people? We were able to sit after some people left. If not at a table, there are barstools along the East wall with plenty of space to eat. It got a little crowded but lunch had just started. When we left it had mellowed out considerably.
There are only 3 canned sodas offered but water is free as are the utensils and handy wipes because you are going to use your fingers and get messy in the best way.
I’ll recommend what I had which is the tuna and ginger, grilled Bulgogi, and the spicy pork. But the tuna and ginger was my favorite, probably go back just for that.
Please note everything is made to order except of course for the tofu pockets so don’t expect fast food. It’s delicious food, plain and simple, and I’m so glad we went. We were three adults and two kids, ordered 13 pieces, no leftovers. None.
And as a bonus to me, a Star Wars fan girl, a cool Storm trooper poster in front of my parking space. So, yeah, this place gets
It’s a bit messy to eat since they fill the pockets fully. But the place does provides gloves and hand wipes for your convenience.
At the time of this review each pocket is about 5-6$ each. I myself got the bulgogi, garlic butter crab, and unagi(eel). All of which were delicious I would say the bulgogi was my favorite. Lots of filling compared to rice ratio. If you’ve never had Yubu, know that these pockets are on the sweet side as the tofu pockets are usually part of a sweet marinade. So if you have a friend who likes more savory food they may have mixed feelings about eating here.
The menu lists out clearly what the flavors are so definitely take a look. The parking is small though, so please carpool with your friends instead of meeting to this location. Ordering is easy as they have a touchscreen for you to select what you want and pay by card/tap. And food service was quick and delicious. Definitely stop by for an easy and fast/casual meal. 🙂
