We arrived at the restaurant and immediately realized it was no longer under the same ownership. The place looks rundown and unclean, with a stale smell of grease throughout. The air conditioning was not working, which made the experience even more uncomfortable.
Shortly after being seated, we saw a medium sized cockroach on the wall. At that point, we should have left. Unfortunately, we had already sat down and did not want to leave after spending the money and end up not eating.
The person who greeted and served us was very kind and attentive, and I want to acknowledge that. Unfortunately, the condition of the restaurant and the food completely overshadowed the service.
The food itself was extremely disappointing. This place used to be known for quality ingredients, including real Italian or hoagie style bread. Now the sandwiches are served on hot dog buns, are very small, and taste off, almost sour. The meat seemed low quality, and some people in our group did not finish their food because it did not feel safe to eat.
What makes this especially frustrating is that the prices remain the same as before, which feels unjustified given the drastic drop in quality. Paying premium prices for hot dog buns with minimal fillings and poor quality meat is unacceptable.
This restaurant used to be a great spot, but if it has changed ownership, the standards have clearly changed as well. Unfortunately, it is no longer what it used to be, and I would not recommend it in its current state.

Just had the worst experience ever at this establishment. Ordered a meatball sub and they were definitely frozen meatballs, also they’re using pre packaged meat instead of fresh cut deli. The cheese was also pre packaged. One of my subs was supposed to have ham, turkey and roast beef and it came with literally one slice of turkey and no roast beef at all. The place also has no ac in the building so the girl behind the counter was sweating. I spent $47.05 on three subs that went straight to the trash can when I got home. This place has gone downhill badly. I’ll never go there again.

The food is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! This has become my once a week stop. When you go, make sure to sample their garlic sauce….OMG HEAVEN! The owners are two of the most kindest and loving people. The atmosphere is family friendly. And everything is cooked to order! Thank me later

Good for the area, most places don’t offer so many Chicago-focused dishes. The Italian beef sandwich was good, though the sauce was a little greasy. Loved the hot dog! It hits the spot without having to drive too far.
The service was great and the theming was entertaining. Not sure about the luxury brand themed women’s bathroom, guessing that’s a leftover from whatever this space was in a previous life.

Went here because my husband and I love Italian beef sandwiches. We decided to give this place a shot! I went in and was greeted with a warm welcome! We thought the sandwiches were okay! Not great, not horrible! There wasn’t much meat. The fries were a bit overpriced for what was received! Place is REALLY clean and they were mopping the already clean restaurant! Excellent! I would visit here again!

We decided to get Italian beefs one more time! We will NEVER EVER eat here again! The juice on the beef tasted like coffee!! The meat- it was all just HORRIBLE!! We were sooooo disappointed!!!

I paid over $34 for a lunch seafood boil which I believe was one of their “Combos.” While ordering I said I needed a drink. I looked in the near-empty drink case but saw nothing I drink. Then I noticed a soda dispenser and thought of having one of those but, as it turned out, the soda dispenser was out of order. The order taker told me she’d “go get this started” while I decided (on a drink). I told her there is nothing to decide because there is nothing to drink. I told her I’d take a CUP of water. And, I figured out the same person I was ordering from would be the one “cooking” it. Did I mention I paid $34+?
No other customers were there on a Thursday lunch. But for one table where an employee or Owner was “camped out” there are only about 8 tables in the restaurant. I was really mad about coming to a restaurant with nothing to drink.
I sat and waited, and waited, and waited. As I waited I started to become very concerned about the freshness of what I would be served. If there are no customers product doesn’t move. I feared what I was supposedly about to get served would not be the freshest.
I got tired of waiting, so left. When I left, I never even received the “CUP” of water I more or less negotiated for. All my money down the drain. Don’t know how it can continue to keep its door open.

Ignore all negative reviews. New owners (Mother and Son) took over about a month ago. They are open 7 days a week.
The Italian Beef is delicious. The Mexican Hot Dog was also great. The place is very clean with cool dog decor. The owners are super nice people and are willing to display photos of customer’s dogs. Also, the floor is make out of pennies and looks very cool. I’ll definitely be back.

Stopped in for lunch today,the counter person was nice and gave us a moment to choose…my wife wanted the pastrami sandwich but was told that they were out of pastrami today.. she settled for a tuna sandwich…I ordered the Italian beef sandwich w/hot pepper and an au jus…we were both hungry and enjoyed our lunch… though my sandwich was actually 2 six inch rolls rather than a 12 inch one…same same I guess. Drinks were limited in choice so we had bottled water. I’ve had worse but have had so much better.

Good Lord the seafood boil was yummy!! I tasted the sauce in Broward Meat abt a mth ago and lost their info which I’ve been searching for but a friend of msg me to tell me me how good their food was only to swallow it’s the same place I’ve been searching for so isn’t immediately. That sauce is a taste of heaven and the service was even better!! The owner came over and chat with us & it will be my wild go to spot from now on for seafood. Thanks for the great food!!
