The food is outstanding. The tacos are packed with flavor, made with fresh ingredients, and cooked to perfection. The meat is juicy and well-seasoned, the tortillas are warm and soft, and the toppings are fresh and balanced. The salsas are especially impressive, offering great flavor with just the right amount of heat. Portions are generous and the prices are very fair for the quality you’re getting.
What really ties it all together is the service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and clearly takes pride in both the food and the cleanliness of the place. You can tell they care about customer satisfaction and maintaining high standards. Overall, this is a top-tier taco spot with amazing food, a clean and pleasant atmosphere, and excellent service. Highly recommended—definitely a place you’ll want to come back to again and again.
Taqueria Cresta has become one of our (my husband and I) favorite (if not the very favorite) places to visit. We absolutely love the seafood guacamole and the octopus tacos, always fresh and so tasty. We also love the margaritas, our favorites are prickly pear (seasonal), pomegranate, blood orange and mango (pretty much all of them)! We’ve tried the shrimp tacos, fish tacos, chiles rellenos, birria tacos plantains and much more. We have loved everything we have tried so far. The service is always excellent and we definitely recommend them to everyone!!!
The service was amazing. The bartender took of us on the first floor and he was very helpful and kind. He made me a zero proof cocktail that tasted great and was very pretty. We also never had to wait for more water, he was on top of it.
My low rating is due to the quality of the food, portions, and price. We paid almost 15 dollars for an average appetizer guacamole and chips. My husband had the pastor chicken tacos which were the one food item we can say was worth it. My meal was the most disappointing. I ordered the grilled steak tacos and the meat was gray and had a off putting smell. We did go on half off taco night but if we had paid full price for those tacos it would have been absurd.
I understand that food costs are at an all time high which affects restaurants but there has to be some way that the quality and portions can come close to reflecting the price.
It’s an informal atmosphere, but they make an effort to make it look festive. The margaritas are decent amd reasonably proced and they have rwspectable draft beers.
The staff are friendly and helpful. If you have friends more comfortable with Spanish than English, they will be right at home.
The food and drinks are very modestly priced. Thirty or so dollars each, before tips and taxes, gets us dinner and a couple of drinks.
Though it was Thursday, if you know me you know Tacos are my love language. Deciding to do a Taco date I hopped on Yelp to see what was in the area. After a few scrolls and top review reads, I decided to head to “Taqueria Cresta” to see what it was all about.
Arriving at Taqueria Cresta was cool as it sits directly off the main street. Walking in, you get the feel of a neighborhood bar, however, when you get towards the back, there is a Mexican decor deliverable that transforms the entire space… Greg welcomed us in and assisted us with seating. I opted for a table as I would be able to enjoy the sights.
Once seated, Greg welcomed us again and briefed us on the menu options and made some recommendations.
Starter:
Tortilla and Salsa – this dish comes with 3 salsa options. I decided to get the base mild sauce, the pico de gallo, and I let Greg choose the third one and he decided to hit me with the Hibiscus salsa… The mild salsa is mild and bland. There was no true flavor profile to it at all. The Pico was fresh, flavorful, and spot on. The Hibiscus salsa changed my lifeeeeeeee… Though the fact that it was purple had me scared at first, the flavor profile of the salsa is amazing. There is a hint of heat and sweet, and best of all, the flavor profile is robust and has a secret ‘hmmm’ that hits you after you finish chewing and presents an added flavor excitement in the form of an after taste. For the record, I have never had this salsa before, but now I feel as though I have to ask for it everywhere I go. It was the bombbbbbbbbb!
Entree:
BIRRIA TACOS • Beef birria, melted cheese, corn tortillas, side of consome.
The Birria tacos were smaller than I am accustomed to, however, what they lacked in size, they made up for in flavor. Them things were hittinnnnnnn. Fresh ingredients, amazing flavor, tender meat, juicy meat, and the consomeeeeeeeeeeee… One word… BUSSIN!!!!
For the record… there were no crumbs left on my plate!
Taqueria Cresta was an amazing experience. If I am ever in the area again I will definitely stop in again. Make sure you add Taqueria Cresta to your list of must try places when you’re in the area.
The Food: Had the classic guacamole, birria tacos with consumé, pork al pastor tacos, pomegranate mimosa, and the “Midvale Mule”.I would recommend it all. Hade to make it an early day, had some “adulting” to do later, so I couldn’t sample more food and drink. All the more reason for a return trip. And that AMAZEBALLS art? Apparently, one of the bartenders is the talented artist behind it! Stupid me didn’t get his insta or whatever. But I recommend. Went for brunch on a Saturday. 11:45am. Hade the place to ourselves for a bit. People did start coming in after 12:30, 1pm .
